She watched him as he got up wondering to herself exactly what he was doing, an obviously confused expression spreading over her face. But she herself wouldn't like sitting for so long, so she brushed it off, thinking that she'd ask later.
A delighted grin spread over her face when Sych mentioned what Athena's advice was. But after he said it, her eyebrows shot up and furrowed slightly. /What on earth does that mean?/ Being the daughter of Apollo, the originator of the Oracle of Delphi, Adora had an innate love for riddles. She wished she had the power of prophecy, so badly, and maybe that would have made it easier for her to figure things out, but alas; though she was a demigod she was still a human and so couldn't hope to have every power that she could have had. And the gods did have a reputation for being cryptic, so it took her a few moments of silent thought before she answered, "Perhaps... To trust only what you can guarantee as true? I'd think... maybe it refers to having evidence and proof before you believe or pursue something. Somewhat like the proverb, 'Measure twice, cut once'. But I honestly don't know! What does it mean?" She replied with a light shrug, eagerly awaiting his explanation.
He was probably one of he few people she'd met who would have taken being a demigod so calmly. But then she thought that that matched his personality; he didn't seem to her someone that could be made easily excited at something and he was also logical, so that made sense. Even among the demigods she'd already met, he seemed different. And still she found it sad. She saw only a glimpse of the Ares' boys reaction towards him and wondered just how differently he was treated when he first came here. /Even among demigods, it must have been hard.../
His question caught her slightly off guard, so again, she thought a bit before responding, "My mother's best friend, Jessie; she's been a friend to me. But then I basically grew up with her so she's more like a big sister or a motherly figure. Other than her, no..." She shook her head in response, "No friends." A faint frown tugged at the corner of her mouth. She'd wished that she had more social contact when she was younger, but perhaps that was just her inexperience influencing her. She did get so terribly lonely, and even though she was surrounded by people who could become her friends, she still felt that way.
She dismissed her thoughts with a faint shake of her head, "I've only been here a short time, so I can't say that I've developed any really close friendships. Call me picky, but a friend takes a while for me to find. Besides, the people I admire and would like to be my friends with are probably too good for me anyways." She remarked with a faint and almost embarrassed chuckle, interlocking her fingers behind the back of her neck. There were a few people that she met already that she really admired, Sych included, and despite her natural confidence, she felt that they were too cool to even consider her in a similar way. But of course she wouldn't admit that, and so simply shrugged, "What of you? Have you found any friends among the various folk of Camp Half-Blood?"
