Full Name: Gwendolyn "Gwen" Blake
Age: 17
Description: Gwendolyn has short, warm blonde hair that's about shoulder length, and weighs approximately 126 pounds with a slender, more lithe build. Her height is at 69 inches, and she usually wears her glasses, which have black frames, but dark blue shows from the inside. Across her thigh, there's a thin, barely visible scar as a result of a monster attack. The daughter Daeira has bright blue eyes, and his skin that leans more on the pale side.
Sexuality: Bisexual
Olympian Parent: Daeira, the goddess of the past and ancient knowledge
Mortal Parent: William Alexander Blake
Personality: Gwendolyn is a solemn, rather serious girl. She smiles often, but not full-blown grins. She tends to get rather fidgety when bored, and needs something to focus on, like a book. Gwen is fascinated with the most trivial of things, such as how someone pronounces their "e"s, or even how someone walks.
The demigoddess is a sweet, rather shy person, preferring to stay on the edges of things instead of in the limelight. Since she's a bit timid, Gwen can come off as indifferent or cold, sometimes even over-confident and stuck-up.
She loves resarching and learning new things, and is a visual and auditory learner. Some other things she enjoys doing are reading, glassmaking, and sparring. Oh, and though it's a bit out of her bookish personality and she would never admit it, Gwendolyn absolutely adores climbing the lava wall. It's the rush of adrenaline and the sheer fear of not thinking you're going to live that somehow makes it delicious for her to experience. As such, she also loves fighting, and has gained quite a bit of experience, so watch out for her in the arena.
The bad things about the daughter of Daeira are that she's easily startled, competitive, and stubborn at some of the worst of times-like when you're supposed to be working together. A grudge can be held for months with her, and she won't ever let you live it down-forgiving but in no way forgetting. Gwendolyn's also very moody. She has quite a bit of stamina, so during fights, she won't tire out easily.
History: William Alexander Blake met Daeira at a museum. She was looking at a older artifact, a bowl from the Mesopotamian civilization, and eager to help-and a not so secret history fanatic-William swooped in and told her about it. Amused but impressed by his knowledge and genuine passion (though he wasn't even a tour guide), Daeira-"Daphene"-offered to meet up with him again. Over the course of months, they eventually concieved Gwendolyn.
When Daphene disappeared, William was left to face the truth with a letter she had left him and a small cloth bag of ambroisa. Taking her words as the truth-even if he was really skeptical at first-he packed from his flat in Maine and flew over to Manhattan, New York, where he bought a house in downtown.
Growing up, the two were very close. William homeschooled his daughter and she was very bright, especially interested in history. When Gwendolyn was in a local library at fourteen, she saw a shifty-looking man who looked strangely like he only had one eye. Thinking nothing of it, she continued on, and moments later, she saw him morph into something...strange. And then he attacked her, scratching her with a knife he held by her leg.
Completely freaking out, Gwendolyn threw a dictionary at him and ran that one block home despite her injury, telling him what happened. William made her eat a block of ambroisa. Ignoring her questions, he threw his old letter at her and drove to camp with no incidents.
The girl was claimed after one month.
Weapons: Gwendolyn owns a pin that if tapped thirteen times consecutively, engulfs her in armor (the design is similar to that at gabrielle-g.deviantart.com/art/Female-Armor-Sketch-302792982) colored bronze in different shades. It's made of celestial bronze, and when she taps the diamond shape in the middle, it returns to being a pin. She fights with a simple celestial bronze sword that has a slightly curved blade. When she fights, the magic in her armor exchanges her glasses for contacts automatically.
Abilities: Gwendolyn can speak all the dead languages-which is kind of useless, seeing as they're "dead"-but not fluently, has a very good memory, has an infatuation with history and learning, and can tell whether a person had a good history with another or not, but only if they are within a seventy meter radius.
Years at Camp: Four
Year-Rounder or Summer-Only Camper?: Summer-Only, but she pops in for a visit every so often.
