I sat on the spot that my mother's tree used to be, now it was empty. Her oak tree was gone. I took the headband that she made for me of my head, the blue gem barely glowed. Yeah I was sad, I knew that without looking at that stone. The stone would glow bright if I was happy, and hardly if I was sad. Myself, I always glowed a dim silver light. Why is that even necessary? I always get spotted, and cannot go anywhere unnoticed... Very annoying. I put the tiara back on my head. Why was it a tiara anyways? Am I the princess of the birch trees? I don't think so. I look up to the sky which is turning dark, the moon raises. 'Hey Artemis, how are you and your hunters doing?' No reaction, of course, why would any gods be interested in a talk with a creature like me, just a nymph. I mean, they hardly ever talk to their Demi-God children. I took my bow from my back and stared at it. It glowed, of course, everything glows. For not knowing mortals I'd be thought of a fairy or elf. Well if they could see me that is. Then I hear a sound behind me, I grab an arrow with the speed of lighting and lay it on my bow. I launch a warning shot within a couple of seconds. Hitting the producer of noise some inches in front of their feet. 'Who goes there?' My long pointy ears catch every tiny sound perfect, that is quite nice.
