Easter egg hunt - thread competition

I was still shocked. What were esater eggs ? I looked up to Ren as she handed me the paper "Well sure I could help " I said grinning under my mask. "oh and sorry, I hope I didn't scare you with the mask " I walked arouns thinkong a little and suddenly I came to a result "wait do we have to do this in one day ? Cause curently it's 11 in the morning and we need to hurry."  All of this had all hapened to fast and I started realising that I shouldn.t have said yes without thinking. this was to be a quest, there was a prophecy, riddles and two heros. i was no hero but a daughter of zeus was. But the tentaion of adventure was too hard.
I adjusted my matchete on my back and said. "you found the paper,you leed. Oh and if you're Luke's brother, then you're a natural born leader." I looked back at her, moved my head forward as to say "let's go". I walked forward knowing that I was going to spend the day on fulfilling a prophecy. But then I fought for a moment and realised I had forgotten to ask a serious question. "I grew up in a hidden tribe in brazil, I guess I really don't know what those "easter eggs are", seriously what in the name of hades are they ? I asked still stunned how modern civilization, even in a demigod camp was.

As quickly as I could I walked passe the Hera cabin telling myself that this ould be done last. I hated it. I started entering the demeter cabin looking around everywhere. I was starting to find this easter egg hunt fun. An older girl walked towards me and said "Looking for eggs?" smiling.
"yes,um... yes that.s it. Eggs..." I said uneasy.
I walked over to a window looking in the flower pots. With luck, I found a small paper representing a kind of map. I continued towards the other cabins, finding the pieces of map we needed. I skipped the artemis cabin, as it was enchanted so no boys could come in. The aphrodite cabin was the most embarasing as some girls either screamed when they so me or wanted me to come in their bed. A boy even found me sexy and I has to keep explaining to him that I was sorry but I was not gay. I walked over to the dionysus cabin, wich was on the girl side. As I entered there was a dozen satyrs with a few dionysus kids smoking weed and passing a bong around. Camp was mad, but I didn't care, I was one of finn's main dealers at camp. It got me a few drachmas. I continued mu search in the minor god cabins, finding the pieces of map we needed.
Then, I walked all the way back to the hera cabin. I hated this cabin. It was empty. But I had a prophecy to furfill. "here goes nothing" I said entering the cabin. I advanced in the glim light of the open door. Advancing towards the messed up statue of Hera. At the bottom I found a litle chest. I didn.t dare to open it so I took in my hand. I walked out and met Ren in front zeus' cabin. "Well I found all the bits but I didn't dare to go in the artemis cabin. Oh and for hera I onlu found this box. I'm not sure if it will be useful."

As ren opened the box, light filled the gap when suddenly, a massive boom took us flying. I landed hard on the ground stunned.nobody came rushing out from their cabins. The atmosphere had change to loliness. I could only see ren a few meters away. I looked around again to see if there was anybody, but the area seeled deserted now. As if we were in another camp. I tried standing back up but I only managed to get up on my knees grunting painfully. But then I saw a dark figure in the smoke that had formed out of the explosion stood the figure of a boy. He looked at me with two golden eyes and shouted "Now that I'm free I'll reclaim what is mine! If you wish to follow my path, then be sure to kneel before death." the figure paused for a sexond then looked at ren and said "I will reclaim what is mine and use it's powers to avenge myself"
Then he disapeared in a flsah of lightning.

I got back on my feet and ran towards ren. There was still nobody around. "You .re all right ?" I asked. She nodded. "ok, I think I know who this guy is. He.s an ancient demigod. A son of zeus. He lived in middle age with the guys in iron armor and stuff. Zeus had come down on earth to have fun with a local whore, if you know what I mean. He knew the girl was strong so he gave her a son. What zeus didn.t know was that the girl was a powerful witch that had drogued him in order to have a demigod son. But hera knew all about this so she game down on earth will zeus was occupied and tortured the witch to death. In rage, the demigod hunted her down. But he was to powerful to hera's eyes. She persuaded zeus to kill him. Zeus came down on earth again, to see his son. But this tile he killed him." I paused and took a breath. "actually no, he closed him up in a lagical box where he would live a perfect life for eternity. The box was hidden. I didn.t know where, but I guess we just found out. Anyway, if we don't want the queen of the gods to destroy the camp and want to get back to the , normal world we need to go to that place. That.s where he's heading. Let.s get a move on" I said as we started walking towards the place we had just been indicated."

The only thing I remember of that box, which I've decideded is the brother of Pandoras box. Is boom, me flying, long live Zeus powers, Zack flying, bad thing he's not meant to be flying though, and this story of my half brother going to destroy some crap if we don't stop him, just a daily day in Camp Half-Blood. I won't die, no but if my half brother goes to wonder around in camp like that... 'Those Hermes children can have that egg, let's get my halfbrother before she does so. ' I pointed at cabin number two. 'Into the forest we go...' I half ran half walked as fast as Zack could do, his knees broke his fall for him. 'What was he going to reclaim anyways?' 'Kneel to death, does he mean Hades, because I don't really feel like meeting my uncle...' I looked around me and noticed something weird about it. 'Er Zack, with going back to normal, do you mean that we've just been zapped out of Camp Half-Blood?'

I thought about that, we've got to bow down to death, nope not going to happen we're two powerful brave Demi-Gods against one. But no, Ren, daughter of Zeus is probably going to freak out and panic when Zack needs her most, Ren, just get your shit together, here is your quest, go for it.

We made it to the forest, and I saw the Demi-God again, and I duck behind a tree. A flash of lightning hit the spot where I just stood. I made my own, ready to throw. i jumpedfrom behind the tree and saw nobody there. 'Oh crap...' I looked to the spot Zack had just been standing, he wasn't anymore. 'Zack?' Then I saw him peeking from behind another tree, of well peeking wasn't excactly doable with such a mask. 'It is save.' he came from behind the tree. And we started walking again. After about five minutes I noticed a black shape in one of my eye coners. I instantely regognised it. 'Hellhound!' I pulled mu necklace and my sword grew from it, the metal shunign like lightning, you could still see my necklace, it hung at the end of the heft. This Hellhound was so going to regret attacking us two...

I swung my sword at his face, making a cut in his snout. He bit at m but missed. Zack attacked the Hellhound from behind, doing some pretty good damage to his hind legs. I stabbed him in the side, and Zack killed it by going through the heart area. We didn't die and I didn't panic, pretty cool. 'Thanks.'

We walked on for another 30 minutes, finding nothing but occasional electrocuted trees. 'What is even so deep in the forest that is worth the walk and the risk of monsters killing you above all?'

'Well that is reassuring...' I said as I stretched out my hand to help Zack out of the crater. 'At least he's got a smaller sword now.' I could kind of sense that we were getting close, the air was, well tense, as if any moment a storm could be coming. 'I can't help with the sun problem, I can't summon clouds, lightning and air is all.' I said as we continued the walk towards my rather evil ancient half-brother. This family reunion was going to be wonderful, and with Zack being weaker the whole fighting stuff was going to be though. Don't we all love to be magically zapped to some weird dimension by your brother, who by the way wants you dead and will probably demolish the one place you care for an gain this scary superpower? Oh and don't forget about the queen of Gods who also wouldn't mind you being dead...

Yet another long time passed, no monster, almost to good to be true. As we walked up a hill I found myself getting bored, that'd be over soon. Zack threw me on the floor by pushing me down pretty hard. 'Dude, I am not that heavy, know your own strength.' I hissed at him, knowing something was wrong. Zack put his finger to his mouth and hissed at me to be quiet, then he pointed in front of us. I looked and who I expected to be there was there, my brother, the ancient son of Zeus. What he was doing, I wasn't sure, but suddenly it turned dark. I looked up to the sky and saw a huge storm forming. 'Well at least he solved your sun problem. And hopefully the genetics of him only having two of Zeus' power work, which means he cannot fly where I can do that.' I whispered as quiet as I could. We exchanged looks about what to do. 'Maybe he'll listen to me, you know Zeus child to Zeus child?' I has this feeling Zack didn't think so but I stood up any ways. Purposely on a way acting as if I was super weak, hurt and really scared. It wasn't all that hard, because apart from the hurt part, that was basically how I felt.

'Brother, what are you doing?' I said as I stumbled up to him, collapsing when I made it there. I stood up, not forcefully but as if my arms where hurt. 'What is yours?' I asked him. Then, in a quick movement he grabbed his sword as slashed it at my sword-arm, before I took my own. I yelled out in surprise and pain. A clutched my arm and felt some blood flowing out of the cut. He pushed me on the floor by kicking me in the chest and keeping me down by planting him foot on my belly. I looked at the direction of Zack. Mouthing the word 'help'. He pointed his sword at my throat. The Zeus child just laughed and called me a pathetic and unworthy child of Zeus. I kind of felt that way, laying here on the floor, my half-brother his foot on my belly and a half broken still pretty darn sharp sword pointed at me. My plan failed, never let me plan stuff, that's why you have children of Athena, they have brains that are meant to make up genius plans.

The boy put his foot on my neck. ‘Bye sis’ He looked at me in a evil way. I gasped for air. ‘Stop!’ I heard Zack call my name, and saw him poof away. Shadow travelling, I knew that, because that is what it looked like, he disappeared into shadows and I rolled away as the boy let go of me. I rolled away, and saw Zack collapse on the floor. And so did the son of Zeus. Yes as if I am... I thought when Zack told me that he wasn’t good enough to kill some-one. I mean, he’s had more training than I’ve had, and he’s older than I am, just overall stronger. ‘Zack?’ He’d disappeared, great.

This was my chance. I grabbed my necklace and turned it into my sword. I stood up, ignoring the pain that went through me. I slashed at his arms, which weren’t protected. I cut his right arm and he dropped his sword. I jumped around him and kicked his sword away, pointed mine at his throat. He looked at me with something in his eyes that made me hesitate, I wasn’t quite sure what it was though. ‘Little sister, how did you like Camp Half-Blood?’ He shrugged his shoulders and stuck his arms up in a “I-don’t-give-a-damn” way. ‘What have you....what have you done?!’ ‘NO!’ The son of Zeus yelled out. ‘Stay of that!’ He wasn’t talking to me, obviously I had nothing that could seriously damage him. ‘Oh no way!’ I held my sword closer to his face. ‘You are so not hurting Zack.’

He looked at me and I felt a pang in my heart, I knew that there was no way I could kill this guy. He was rather like Luke, but then the evil version. But I saw that he hadn’t always been like this, he was good in his heart. I just couldn’t help but lowering my sword. How bad could he be? Maybe he has a point somewhere? ‘What do you want son of Zeus?’ He smiled at me ‘Thanks sister, all I really want now is to get back what has been taken from me by Hera, I was not a bad person, I just happened to be a child of Zeus, like you. Would you find it fair if you got locked up by dad because his immortal wife wants that?’ I shook my head, he did have a point there. He looked at me with a sad look. ‘Forgive me for my need of justice...’

But naturally I misjudged the situation, again... He pushed me away. And stormed over to Zack. I knew he couldn’t fly, I could. I summoned the winds to carry me. I flew in front of him. ‘I repeat NO!’ I slashed my sword at him, he dodged them easily. If only I had had more training. Zack came into action, he pulled me back. Pointed at the egg and fought the son of Zeus.

‘Sorry drakon, but I’ll have to kill you.’ I was ready to smash the egg, when it started shaking. ‘Oh Gods...’ A baby drakon popped out of the egg. I was the size of a mature python, pretty big. Its long scaly body had no wings, and his eyes were golden. It looked at me and waggled up to my leg. I remembered that the first thing a baby animal saw, was the mother for that animal. ‘Ehm drakon, I am a Demi-God not a drakon, can’t you tell the difference?’ Apparently not... It sat on my shoulder and did not feel like moving. ‘Hey dude! This is your almighty slaying beast?’

The boy turned around, gritting his teeth. ‘How dare you steal my drakon?!’ ‘Oh you mean this rather cute creature here?’ I patted its head, yeah it was cute in a monstrous way. ‘He kind of likes me I suppose.’ I managed to smile. I had to distract him so Zack could kill him. I stood still on my spot as the Demi-God came up to me. He held out his hand and a lightning bolt formed. It was the size of an small ruler. ‘Oh is that all you can do?’ I grinned as I grew myself a lightning bolt, which was as big as a sword. ‘See, this is more like it, but I believe you are just not strong enough to beat a pathetic and unworthy daughter of Zeus, huh?’ I made my bolt disintegrate. And his, somehow. He was ready to hit me when the drakon did something I had so not expected. He jumped of me and on the Demi-God his face. Who yelled out, probably because drakon poison is not that nice to get in touch with. ‘Zack!’ Where was he at? I saw him, laying on the floor. I ran to him, leaving the drakon with the boy.

‘Zack, are you alright?’ I kneeled next to him. I had no ambrosia on me, only at Camp Half-Blood. ‘We have to get out of here, like really quick.’ I helped him up and we walked back to the boy and the drakon. Zack brought down his sword on the two. I closed my eyes, I just couldn’t look at it. ‘It’s done.’ I heard Zack say. ‘Thanks for saving me multiple times.’ Suddenly I felt everything, all the cuts I had acquired with the fights. My legs started shaking and I fell to the floor. The Demi-God started glowing and I heard a loud boom. The same as in the beginning of all of this. I fell from the sky, and landed on my back. I felt my body slamming on the hard floor of something. I yelled out, my whole body in pain, and my arm was in some weird position, my vision went black.

I woke up in the infirmary. Zack was also there, his arm in bandage. ‘Hey Ren, we’re not dead.’ I smiled. ‘No we’re not...’ I looked around and noticed that my arm was in plaster. ‘Did I break my arm? No-no-no how do I do things now, I need my arms, both of them?’ Zack explained how I had landed on my arm, when magically getting back to camp. ‘How did you not break anything or so? Well, you are just stronger and braver than I am Zack. Truly if you weren’t here, I’d not have gotten as far as the note of the Hermes children. All of this wouldn’t have happened, now I think of that....’ I made a fake mad look at him and laughed. I climbed out of the bed, I didn’t feel like being the poor hurt girl. I hugged Zack with my working left arm, never would I forget what he’d done for me and for the camp.

Never again will I go out and look for those easter eggs... Never.
