Catalina's First Hunt (OPEN)

"Thanks!" Catalina eased up a bit more, usually being stoic herself, as she was sort of afraid and sort of excited in her new life. She was still amazed at the aspect of traveling around with a bunch of other girls going on quests- it was so much more different than being at camp, training every day for years. It seemed never-ending at times, and a few times she almost felt depressed.
But finally! A new chance!
She shook her head gently with a nod, following after Sandra. "Yes, that'd be great."

Catalina stepped in, still unable to stop grinning although her cheeks hurt. A rare thing for her indeed. "Well, it's definitely a fancy tent. Roomy." She noted, looking over at the cot next to a netted window. Underneath was a little drawer, where she decided she would place her special flower bearing beautiful petals of color that her mother had given her at a summer solstice.
Her mind was racing around with so many thoughts, it wasn't all easy to keep up.

"Thank you." Catalina nodded, putting down her bright green backpack and flower. Looking around briefly, she wondered if there were any mortals turned huntress of Artemis in her tent. Catalina wondered how they had joined without having a close contact toward the goddess herself or any of the huntresses. She quickly headed out, moving her braid to her shoulder. "Sounds good to me, we should get going then."

"Nah, it's okay, I don't mind. I don't have that deep of a history or anything," Catalina shrugged, "I had wanted to join the hunt since I was about 9 or 10. The aspect of traveling the world, going on heroic quests, and having sisters that didn't annoy you sounded incredible. I wanted to wait until I was at a good age, and I couldn't wait anymore when I turned 14 and you guys were at camp. Impatience, I suppose." Her lips curled up into what seemed to be a grin. "I had been working at my archery skills for years. Anyway, why did you join the hunt, if you don't mind me asking? Like you said, you don't have to answer if you don't want to."

"Oh...well, i'm definitely glad we're both in a better place. My father wasn't too great, either." Catalina said, remembering him in a not-so-fond way. The guy had an amazing estate with amazing shrubbery and plants, and locked up gardens galore, but never had he even looked at the queer young demigod.
She explored the area for a bit as suggested, and Catalina couldn't say that they didn't have bad choices. She wasn't a vegeterian or a vegan, meat being a frequent part of her diet, but she had plenty of vegetables and salads. She opened a top and peered into some stew, a golden-colored broth with chunks of meat and broccoli, which smelled surprisingly really good. She didn't spend too long as she was eager to see the rest of the Huntress Camp, heading out the door and following Sandra.
"Are swords and daggers also used among Huntresses, or are bows and arrows their primary weapons? I'm only asking because my best fighting tool is the bow and arrow.

Catalina nodded, "I dislike using swords myself, and daggers I find easier than swords." She grinned as she looked around the training site was: Nothing fancy, but it was elegant in it's own way and perfect for most types of combat. Several haystacks had targets tied to them, and there were places for the huntresses' weapons to be stored, but she hoped she was allowed to keep her bow and arrow with her underneath her cot; she felt safer with it right next to or closer to her. If not, at least she could keep her dagger, it was fairly small.
"This is nice," She said, wanting to stay and try out the equipment but at the same time eagerly wanting to explore everywhere else. She felt like a young field mouse, venturing out into the unknown world without any knowlege of what lied ahead.
