It had been 2 weeks since Zek had saved me from the nymphs. He had tried to befriend me a dozen times but I didn’t like staying round people. I wanted to alone. In fact I didn’t know why I was in this camp. Well, off course it was a safe place but you had to train, harder harder every time. The only person I really spoke too, was Jimmy the Rasta centaur I had met in Cuba. He was responsible for sending me here, and by that act I had to be respectful too him. He was quite funny, and he was the only one not scared of me. Actually I knew why. All these joints he smoked probably made him think my mask had a massive grin and cute eyes. But he was the only company I accepted and it always felt good when you had a powerful centaur to your side. But my life at camp was based on anger, and it was hard not to show it.
I passed all my nights near the camp fire. It seemed that I could never sleep. Each night I was waiting to be claimed, and all my ferocity had to be released on voodoo dolls or on dummies in the arena. Tonight I had chosen the arena. I walked in the marble archway, that leaded to the training grounds. A burst of anger came to me and I kicked in the soil of arena. Tears welled in my eyes but my instincts told me to look around. Indeed, in the light of the moon fought a girl. I had never seen her before. She had beautiful purple hair but her ferocity was scary. She slashed at the dummy like it was her worst enemy. My fear was little and easy to overcome. I gently walked to her and I posted myself a meter next to her.
I slid my hands into my pockets and forcing myself to have a normal voice I said “Shall we spar ?”.
