Painting in the Morning [CLOSED]

Gwendolyn let a brush trail over her canvas, letting out a small sigh as the small stroke of green appeared. She leaned back to appraise her work, blue eyes calculating behind her lenses. It was a painting a moonlight lake near a night masquerade ball, and she liked the light, layered strokes of the water, making it shimmer. But the dark, rich colors for the women's dresses and men's coats were better in her eyes, with detailed frills and swirling embroidery.

Something was missing, though. She was painting this to represent a era in history to complete a vision for a book she was reading, and she worked on this whenever she could. Gwendolyn was fond of creating drawings or paintings in history, especially if they portrayed a setting in a book she was reading. A slim, pale finger traced the outline of the water, frowning. What was missing?

The water, check. The people, check. The building, check. The lights, check. The stars, check. The moon, check. The plants, check. The reflection...the reflection in the water!

Grabbing a thicker paintbrush, she grabbed the oil paints that she had been using and a wooden palette. Mixing a light lavender, sky blue flecked with white, and a silver, she dabbed some yellow and came up with a color she could use. Finishing her strokes minutes later, she smiled satisfactorily and sat on her stool, not noticing if there was anyone else in the room.
