Addison entered the stables and started to get stuff together for a ride on one of the pegasi, Big Brown, who she had been spending a lot of time with recently. The daughter of Demeter had changed a lot in the past two years. First and foremost, she went by Addison now, the name she had despised for so long after her father's death, and she had experienced heartbreak again with her boyfriend Exley. She had finally admitted to herself that he was gone for good, after almost two years of waiting and searching for him. It had sort of broken her, more so than she already had been, but she didn't feel grief now when she thought of him. She felt betrayal. She no longer felt like he had disappeared and was trying to get back to her, but instead felt like she had put all the love she had left into their relationship and he had shattered it. As she saddled up and put all the riding gear on the brown pegasus, she thought about how she felt more isolated than ever and how, in the past few months, she had virtually cut herself off from everyone, even most of her own siblings in the Demeter Cabin. The only good thing that had come out of all this was that she was starting to retreat back into her shy, farm-girl self, and had even started getting back into that routine. Nowadays she got up extremely early and took care of the pegasi, worked out in the strawberry fields, and basically resumed the duties she'd had on her dad's old farm. Addison considered it a good thing, but she didn't really know if others saw it that way as well.
The worst thing that had changed about her though, was that she had gotten more aggressive, especially so over the past few months. She was lashing out more quickly when she got into arguments or threatening to hurt someone more readily when they annoyed her. Her brother Aaron had been trying to get her to go to some improvised anger management classes, but she refused, and her having him in a semi-painful headlock for a couple minutes had quickly made him stop pushing the idea. Maybe it wasn't the nicest way to say no, but it had been effective.
She tried to push the negativity out of her mind as she got ready to get on Big Brown and go for a ride, but weird noises at the entrance of the stable got her attention and she left Big Brown in his stall as she went to investigate.
