Harlie sat on one of the upper seats at the amphitheater, her eyes shut tight and her legs held close. She searched high and low for a place absent of people, but this place was crammed full. Everywhere she looked there was someone there, and they were all friendly enough but she just couldn't handle being around this anymore. Everything was so foreign and everything kept changing on her. In the Army they would of told her she was having a failure to adapt, but can you blame her? In one week, she was kicked out of the Army, her mother died, dragged to a camp and told that the Greek Gods are real and her dad was one, but she still didn't know who her dad is, and even though there was a heck of a lot of people here, she still felt alone.
Taking deep breaths, she slowly opened her eyes and looked around. Coast is clear, no one around to see her look so weak. Harlie mentally patted herself on the back for waiting till lunch time to try to be alone. Closing her eyes again, she laid her head back down her legs hugging them as tight as she could. Her mind going a million miles away, locking herself away in her own world. A world where unicorns and magic didn't exist, and everything was just normal. Harlie let out a deep sigh of relief as it all started to set in, but it never lasted long.
In the distance she could hear the laughing and screaming coming from the other campers, lunch must be over. Taking some more deep breaths, Harlie stood up and began to fix herself. She was lucky that all her stuff magically appeared in the Hermes cabin, the cabin where all the unclaimed kids went, so she didn't have to wear that orange t-shirt. She didn't feel like she was really apart of the camp yet, so she refused to wear it and instead wore all of her clothes. Today she had on a tie-dyed tank with light shades of pink and blue with a tiny pocket and an anchor above it, white skinny jeans, and of course her black converses. And just because she wasn't feeling lazy, her now dyed completely red hair laid down straight going past her shoulders. The look of someone who actually cared what people thought, and not like she actually put this much effort because she wanted something to distract herself. Yeah, totally not the latter part. Pushing a strand of hair out of her face, she made her way down to the bottom of the stairs hoping to get out of here before the Apollo kids came.
