(Okay, cool.)
I stopped nibbling at the chocolate chunks hidden in my minty ice cream at the question she had asked. I couldn't help but widen my eyes as I tried to sort through all of the information I was going to have to drop on my sister who had just returned to camp.
She had been gone a long time on her trip. She had left before things got bad with the camp. I looked up at her and placed my spoon back on my plate. I started to drum my fingers on the table as I tried to figure out a way to form my words.
"Well," I started out. "Actually, a lot has happened. Have you noticed there aren't many Nymphs and Satyrs around camp anymore? Casper is probably the first one you've seen all day," I guessed. More and more were coming back from collecting demigods, which meant more and more were staying in camp, but they still weren't as common as they used to be.
"The majority of them were brainwashed by this demigod- Charlie Zimmerman- he's a son of Dionysus who left camp to build his own army of demigods and forest creatures bent on destroying the Gods to gain equality. Sounds like a good cause, right? Well, the problem is, is that he has the fates, and now he's killing people. He's brainwashing others and driving them to insanity... I went on a quest around the time you left. my friends Luke, Finn, our sister Roxy and I all traveled to Alcatraz to find three missing demigods he had taken and locked up... One of them died in the process..." I muttered the last part quietly, remembering the young son of Hermes, Justin that had been killed as the walls of Alcatraz had collapsed on us.
"... Things got bad at camp. Mr.D ended up trapping all the Nymphs and Satyrs, sane and insane in the forest using borders like the ones surrounding camp. The camp all helped out in breaking a small hole in the wall for the sane Nymphs and Satyrs to climb out of. We have them hiding in Deans cabin." I suddenly remembered that Karley probably had no idea who Dean was. "... Dean is a mortal we met on our quest to Alcatraz. He can see through the mist, and had nowhere else to go, so we built him a cabin in the forest outside of camp and he helps run the Camp Shop and sells the Strawberries out in the city to bring in some profit. I can introduce you one of these days. He's a pretty cool guy," I said, getting off topic. "Anyway, Mr. D locked up the borders again after finding out what we were doing. Luckily we managed to get all the sane ones out before. He still doesn't know where they're hiding, so we have to keep that quiet." I thought I had finished filling her in, before I realized I should probably tell her where our sister was. "One of the Hermes campers... A close friend of mine, Finn Thatcher, contracted a rare disease from sharing a drink with a Nymph who carried poison in her saliva. She had been one of Charlie's followers. Finn is deathly sick. We were hiding her in the infirmary so Mr.D wouldn't find her... That didn't work out so well. Our sister Roxy is on a quest to find a cure. The only cure we can find. We think it might be the blood of a Basilisk that can cure it. She's out with three others. Quintyn Avilov, a daughter of Athena who's also a good friend of mine, Leslie Mendoza, a daughter of Hades and some other kid I've never met... I think his name is Zack... They've gone to find Charlie's camp because of a dream the girl Leslie had. Roxy went to go find the Basilisk blood... I've been taking care of Finn, all the Apollo children have. I sing to dad in Greek to speed up the healing, but it doesn't last long," I filled in. I was actually very glad to have Karley back at camp now. She was another amazing Apollo medic. She could take care of Finn better than I could. That would probably put Roxy's heart to rest a little easier. I wasn't exactly the best medic out there. I knew some basics from watching Roxy, but I definitely didn't have the extent of knowledge she and Karley did.
I inhaled a deep breath and sighed slowly, thinking to myself to try and find any holes in my story. I couldn't think of any, I think I had it.
"So, yeah," I said conclusively. "That's basically what you've missed."
