Truth Be Told (Closed)

"I do, but then again I don't." I replied to Eli. Wait, I probably didn't make sense."Well first off, I hate that I've never met her before. Yep, I lived in her mansion for 17 years and never once met her. She only spoke in my mind." I though for a moment on why I didn't and said, "I don't because I love all that night is. Peaceful, calming, yet dangerous. I just wish I could meet her." Then I realized something, he was up late too. "Why you up late?" I asked.

I nodded and said, "Sure, tell away man." Hmm, I wonder what it could be? Tatoo? No... he doesn't seem like that type. Ummmm.....a new project? That could be it, but usually Hephaestus campers are proud of their work and don't keep them secrets. Usually... there could be exceptions I guess. I noticed I had been staring off into the night for quite a bit, I didn't know If he had said anything. I didn't think so, so I waited for his answer.

"Woah, that's pretty cool." I said impressed. I looked out into the night again, and I saw something...faint but I was sure it was there. I had to go there. "Umm, yah Eli...I uuhh.. got to go do something really quick..." I started, then I realized Heck he can come with! "Hey, come on. I have somewhere to go." I got up and walked to the ladder. As I stepped on the first rung, I looked back to him and said, "You coming?"

I waited for Eli to get down, and I said, "Try to keep up!" I raced out the door, I wasn't going to miss my chance. I krpt my pace all the way down to the lake and turned towards the woods. We kept running until we got to the border edge in the woods. "This is were the boarder is, we could both get in trouble for leaving camp. But it where we are going is just a mile away. You don't have to come." I told him. I waited impatiently, because I didn't want to be to late.

    We ran for several around eight minutes before we came to a stop. I stare out at the sky where I had seen the sign. Sure enough it was still there: Two faint crescent moons facing outwards with a star in between them. My mother's symbol. I turned to Eli and said with a little nervousness, "Hey... ummm stay here...please. Just listen and watch." I walked over to the clearing in the woods ahead of us, directly below the symbol. As I reached the center, I knelt on one knee and said, "Mother?"

    All of a sudden, there was a flash of darkness in front of me, darker than the night already was. There in front of me was a hooded woman with beautiful pale skin. She had my jet black hair, but longer. She had however black iris eyes with...were they stars for pupils? She wore a dress that was void black, mixed with the colors of a space nebula, as if galaxies were being born in it. Wow...my mom is so cool.. Then I realized, I had left Tartarus without permission. "Mom, I-I-I'm sorry. I c-c-couldn't take it any more. I had to leave. I-I accept full punishment for leaving." I said while stuttering. I was really nervous that she would send me back to Tartarus. But instead, to my surprise, she smiled.

    "Don't worry, Ater. I'm not here to take you back, you had to take your own path." She said in a warmer voice than I remembered from my head. "I'm only here to tell you I appreciate the work you've put into the cabin, it is wonderful representation of Night and shows the effort you put into making my other children feel accepted." I was dumbfounded. She noticed me? I felt slightly guilty for all those years I hated her. "I-" I started, but she cut me off. "I understand Ater. I must go now, I have other duties. May my love be with you." She said and placed her hand on my shoulder. She then vanished in another flash of darkness and left me kneeling there with an amazed look on my face.

I gasped at what I had just witnessed, and the,Ater's mother,Nyx,came to me and said,"Thank you,Eli,for not making my son,Ater,the outcast, you two will do great things,and then,within a second she was gone."W-what just happened?"I asked astonished.My mind was trying desperately to understand everything that it had just witnessed, but faiiling,and then I understood, all of it,I was barely capable of taking this event in and processing it,but I did.
