Drawing Is A Great Distraction {Pierce}

Saga's whole body shook in surprise, her eyes flying open wide. Letting out a loud gasp, she then settled down when she realized it was just a camper. Calming down, she slowly laid her head back to the spot against the tree but before she could her head snapped up straight. W-wait, is that who I think it is?! Looking over and taking a closer look, she finally noticed it was Pierce. Her heart skipped a few beats, much to her surprise and she shot up from the ground and rushed over to where he was, fairly close by.

"A-a-are you alright?!" She asked, concerned. Saga was a bit of klutz herself, and had gotten some pretty mean scrapes just from tumbling over carelessly. What's he doing over here? I didn't know he was one to hang out here.. She though absent-mindlessly, helping him up.

Glad to see Pierce wasn't hurt or damaged or didn't suddenly lose his memory like in the cheesy chick flicks Saga watched, it was all good. Saga's cheeks burned light crimson as he commented about being excited at the mere fact he'd seen her. She found herself blushing even more at the adorable smile he presented, if she could get any redder that is. Curse my blushes! She thought bitterly, biting her bottom lip slightly. As he asked about taking a seat, she nodded.

"Mm, yeah! The spot by the trees nice." She inquired softly, returning to her comfortably position. Moving her sketchbook on the other side of her, she patted the ground next to her, intending for him to sit.

Saga gave Pierce a look of glee as he sat down, trying to ignore the fact that she too was blushing madly. It didn't feel as embarrassing to her since Pierce was in on it as well. She would have felt silly if it was just here. Following his gaze to her textbook, she too turned her attention towards it. A giggle escaped her lips as he chattered away before shutting himself up.

Shaking her head she said softly, "Mm, it's good. That you talk a lot, I mean," To show him an example of her art, she flipped open to one of the pages, making sure she didn't accidentally flip to the portrait of Pierce. She didn't want to creep him out just as they got to spend time together again. The one she had flipped to was a portrait of Wilma. The woman who acted as her mother. Wilma was a plump woman, long wavy hair that stopped just beneath her breasts. Her look was soft and caring. The picture was a pencil sketch, only the sky blue eyes colored in. The detail was very refined.

"Ahh, I forgot about this one.." she remarked softly, suddenly thinking of the guardian.

Once again, Saga found herself slightly burning crimson at the praise.

"T-thank you!" She smiled broadly before gazing back down at the picture once again. "It's, er, my mom more or less," She realized it could sound a little on the sillier side of things. She was a daughter of Iris. There was no way this woman could biologically be her mother. But truth was, Saga didn't think of Iris as a mother at all.

"Well, you know, she filled in the role and actually raised me.." Pulling out a few blades of grass, she picked a nearby Dandelion and played with it carefully in between her fingers. Although she knew they were more properly known as weeds, she still loved Dandelions, and they were, if to be considered a flower, her favorite flower.

Saga nodded every now and then as Pierce talked more about family matters. Not many demigods had super fabulous home lives. It was really too bad. While she'd lost her step in mother, she at least still had a really awesome home life, and had been able to live in luxury. At times, when others confided in her about their past, she felt guilty. I know it's not my fault, but... It made her realize over and over had good she had it.

"Grandmothers are nice.." she mused lamely, giving him a sideways glance. You, are, stupid. Sighing softly to herself, she looked across the fields, taking it all in once more. She knew she was treading on soft ground here, but her curiosity got the better of her when as she asked, "Band? What's the name of his band? I wonder if he made it big in Sweden..?" Many American songs were played on the radio there, so maybe she had heard of the band.

We Came As Greeks? It took Saga a couple passing moments before her face flooded with recognition. She personally had not really listened to the band, given she wasn't all hoped up on it's genre, but her best friend from school was drooling over them left and right.

"I've heard of them and a few of their songs, but I can't say I'm all that into it's genre.." She said slowly, hoping the comment wouldn't offend him in any sort of way. Feeling slightly apologetic, she gave him a look of understanding, "I can kind of relate, you know. My Dad had to travel a lot himself, then come home and buy me countless presents as if it could make up for his absence. I get though, it's his job.." She trailed off, looking up at the cloudless sky. Pierce had it worse in terms of how often his Dad was home, but Saga could slightly relate to the feelings. Here Dad usually missed holidays and a couple birthdays and special events here and there, but she couldn't even imagine what it was like for Pierce, having to go through that much absence. While Saga herself traveled often, it was still with Wilma, but her Dad often had to stay back for work. Even if they were both home at the same time, he was a busy man.
