Full Name: Luke Fleming
Age: 17
Playby: Chace Crawford
Sexuality: Heterosexual (but open minded towards dating guys)
Olympian Parent: Zeus
Mortal Parent: Kim Fleming (deceased)
Personality: Luke is a pretty friendly, easygoing, and open-minded guy, resulting in him having a soft spot for almost everyone he meets. This becomes a problem when he becomes a constant pushover or easily manipulated, because he doesn’t have a strong opinion for a lot of subjects, mostly only caring about actively being there for his friends or others. Despite this, he hates feeling inferior to others, so putting ‘please’ at the end of a sentence makes the world of a difference when it comes to Luke’s response. He constantly seeks the thrills and adventures of a quest to find out more about what he stands for, and gain a better knowledge of whose side he’s on. (He’s quite aware of being pushed around by the gods.) Living as an orphan at a very early age, he has learned to cope by not thinking too hard about things, and always being optimistic and cheery. He has a simple minded and child-like perception towards things, and doesn’t take too much seriously. Rarely is he not able to push down negative emotions, but when he can’t, it can get pretty bad for a son of Zeus. Luke enjoys cracking jokes at the worst times, sword fighting, and hanging out with his buds. He’s not a big fan of bullies or corporations and he’s convinced all they care about is being better than others, which is a large part of why he dislikes his father (or at least why he thinks he dislikes his father). In reality, Luke actually wants to prove that he can meet Zeus’s expectations. (c’mon, man, don’t you know you’re competing against Hercules)
History: Born in Phoenix, Arizona, Luke was orphaned early in his life when his mother, Kim, became too involved in the affairs of the gods. Kim Fleming was not someone who you’d think would catch a god’s eye; she lived as a waitress in a family restaurant, with only seemingly distant dreams of traveling the world. It wasn’t until she was in her late twenties when Zeus, who had disguised himself as a wealthy business owner, decided to visit the small restaurant in order to get away from the problems he faced in Olympus, at least for a while. They got into conversation, and Zeus was completely entranced with her free-spirited attitude. They hit it off, and Zeus found himself coming back whenever he was feeling stressed (and that was a LOT). Kim offered to help with what she thought was only business affairs, and became very influential in his decisions. The more gods that had gotten the short end of the stick because of these decisions, the more she became known, and disliked. Zeus had revealed the truth to her too late, when she had become pregnant with Luke. Zeus tried hard to protect her for those 9 months, keeping any dangerous monsters back, but as a leader he knew he had other issues he had to attend to, and this was only making the other gods restless. When Luke was born he told her about Camp Half-Blood, that she and Luke had a chance of being safe there, what Zeus didn’t mention is that the Camp could not support her, as it would endanger the other campers, and in advanced he knew that she wasn’t going to make it. She flew to New York, but only made it to Manhattan when she spotted a fury chasing her. She made her way to the nearest orphanage and dropped Luke off there before leading the fury in the opposite direction, and getting killed. Luke had stayed in the orphanage until he was 12, when he had gotten chased off by a manticore during detention and brought to camp by Leo Barckyl, his keeper. Before then he had looked up to the orphanage caretaker, Sheila Basler, as a mother figure, and to this day still looks up to her. Luke is now on his 4th year of camp as a year-rounder, creating a lot of friends and going on multiple quests.
