The Water Is Fine! (Open)

Gwendolyn stretched in an almost feline way, letting her joints let out small pops. She had come here to relax after reading to try to relax-actually, it was more like she was tired after researching Mesopotamia, but it was so interesting, she forgot what time it was, and sat there for hours. Letting out a small sigh, she pulled off her sundress to reveal a swimsuit, more suitable for shallower waters-much shallower waters-but she ignored that.

Pinning her hair up-which took forever, because of her short hair-she started to enter the water when she noticed a slim, lithe form almost expertly dive into the water and then resurface. The daughter of Daeira noted that the girl-it was a girl-had brown curls and tanned skin. Shaking off her thoughts, the girl slipped into the water, relishing in the slightly  cold water. Getting out a laugh, the demigoddess noticed a movement in the corner of her eye. The girl was looking around, presumably to see if there was anyone else.

Pushing aside her shyness-which actually took a lot of effort and what felt like hours-she swam over, trading water to keep afloat."I'm sorry, am I interrupting anything? I can leave if you want..."Realizing that you were probably supposed to introduce yourself before you started talking to a random-but admittedly very good swimmer-stranger, the blonde blushed and let out a hesitant half-smile."I'm Gwendolyn, by the way, but you can call me Gwen if you'd prefer. Gwendolyn Blake, daughter of Daeira."

Gwendolyn smiled in response a bit shyly, flushing a bit. Swirling the surface of the water under her fingertips, she faced the other girl again, quietly speaking. It had taken a lot earlier for her brashness, and it wasn't like she had a lot of boldness either."I suppose they are. You're really good at swimming."

Noting that the girl was shy, Gwen tried to dismiss her timidness, but her voice was still in the soft tone she held when facing a new person."So, um...you're shy, aren't you?"She blushed again at her abruptness."I mean, I guess I am too...?"The blonde ended with a slight squeak, unsure of herself. When she was fighting, she wasn't lacking in self-confidence, but out of the arena...that was a different story. The demigoddess submerged herself for a second, then shook of the droplets out of her eyelashes and hair.

Noting the girl's thinking, Gwendolyn decided to give her a bit and dove back into the water, enjoying the cool touch again. She resurfaced, taking a breath, and then squeezed the water put of her hair. She had decided to let Eva talk, and wondered vaguely if the naiads were listening. Pondering that thought, she trailed her fingers contemplatively, and waited patiently for a reply.

"I do. Especially marine life and ! Did you know that Ancient Greece depended on seas to travel and get some of their food? Most of the civilization's wealth was made relating to ships or overseas trading, since about seventy percent of the land was rocky and infertile, which was obviously bad for agriculture. However, Greece was a peninsula, so there was plenty of oceans and seas to travel and depend on..."She kept on talking excitedly for a bit, until she realized that she was rambling. Halting, Gwendolyn looked back at Eva, immediately timid again."Sorry...my mother's the goddess of the ancient past, so I suppose she effected me with this fascination for history."

Her voice had dropped back into the lighter, shyer tones that she had used before, and she turned into a light shade of red.

When she heard Eva giggle, she relaxed instantly and dived under the water, kicking her legs. When she resurfaced, she blushed, and replied to her words."I think that knowing how to control a boat is really interesting."

Blushing heavily, Gwendolyn averted her gaze, then tried to change the subject."Eer, what's your favorite type of fish?"

Nodding rather solemnly, Gwendolyn took a breath and dove into the water, legs still behind her. After giving a fluid motion with her legs, she shot back up to the surface, blinking. The conversation had a rather strange vibe to it, both girls being rather shy but slightly relaxed. There was an air of timidity around them, and they were starting to know a little bit about each other."What else do you like, besides water-related subjects?"

Nodding understandingly, Gwendolyn dove down, kicking her legs to help bring her deeper in the water, then resurfaced, gasping for air. Squeezing water out of her blonde locks, she smiled shyly at Eva, letting her fingers trail over the surface of the water."So..."She started awkwardly, then changed her mind."What's a seaplane that you really like?"
