Full name: Reida Quimmelia Steinton
Age: 13 years old
Description: With dark wavy locks and tints of red, no one would've though of her as a child of the sea god. Especially since her almond-shaped eyes are actually hazel. But in the right light, her eyes can change colors between brown, sea green, and hazel. Her nose is a little crooked as though she hit the door hard, though it's originally sharp and short. Her smile often suggests that she had broke a major rule and is happy to share it to the world, or sometimes just plain kind. Her face is long and a bit narrow, with a slight split chin. Her toned complexion is pretty much the only real hint that her father is Poseidon. Born with a not-so-tall genetic, she heights 5'2" tall and weights about 42 kg (I know nothing about lbs, sorry). This makes her seems like an easy target, though she is kind of muscular with a few exercises and some jujitsu training (she was on light blue belt before being sent to CHB). Her posture is slender and a little slouch-y, not really bothering to care about how people view her. Often times, she likes to wear an unbuttoned red/blue checked shirt tied at the end and sleeves rolled up over her orange camp shirt paired with denim jeans and blue canvas shoes. All the times, she wear a shark tooth necklace that she had ever since she was a baby.
Sexuality: Heterosexual, I supposed.
Olympian parent: Did I mention Poseidon? I think I did.
Mortal parent: Diana Steinton (now a mermaid, kind of).
Personality: She's known to be either very brave or very stupid, especially when it comes to taking risks. She'll never say no to a challenge. She's stubborn that way. Although she can be quite persistent when it comes to doing goods, she sometimes like to rebel off if things doesn't go in the direction that she likes. Also, she hates it when someone either cry, give up, or ungrateful. One little complain regarding life and you'll be saying "ouch" for two weeks. She is pretty carefree and laid-back, though in certain situations she can be strict and a little harsh. Even though she's good with people, she's actually an introvert. When it comes to strategies, she likes to bend the rules and get creative with a little bit of tricks up her sleeves. Long short story, she is a risk-taker, stubborn, optimist, rebellious, carefree, creative, clever, kind-hearted, and a little mischievous. Oh, and she's pretty protective over those she loves too. Her worst flaw is choices, especially between friends or family and big opportunities, like immortality or stuff like that. Regret and guilt are her least favorite feelings.
History: Diana was an architect working on a villa in California with a nice view of the beach. Since her great ancestor happens to be Athena, she's good at it. One day, when she was just resting under the sun, she caught Poseidon's attention. He then disguised himself as a mortal, and flirted around with her. Diana wasn't really one to know anything about flirting, so she simply laughed and occasionally blushed. When Poseidon mentioned about his knowledge about the seas, Diana asked whether he could help her make the villa more "beach-like", comfy, and generally awesome. Poseidon took this as a chance to get closer to her, and helped her. Later on, they had an...ahem...affair, and this is where things got interesting.
The gods weren't enthusiastic to find out about another child of The Big Three, like, at all. They talked Poseidon through about the possible danger whatnot, and suggested that the baby that Diana beared must be born on land, and if the baby managed to be born, the mother may not step on the land ever again. Poseidon had no choice but to follow them, and reluctantly cursed the young woman. This being said, Diana had a hard time giving birth to her child. Everywhere she went, no one would help her, leaving her in helplessness and a great pain. Poseidon didn't have a heart to let her suffer, so he sent one of his servant to carry her into the middle of the Pacific Ocean. With a little Mist manipulation, the two managed to get there without the gods knowing. Right after they arrived, Diana gave birth right away to a little baby girl that somehow didn't cry. This made her panic, since the very reason a baby cry when they are born is to suck as many air as possible. The servant offered his help, and dipped the baby for five minutes underwater.
Out of sheer surprise, Diana screamed.
But that scream slowly turned into a cry of joy, because her child was all fine and (fortunately) was crying. She then named the little girl Reida, her great-grandmother's name. After all the happiness and craziness, it dawned her that she couldn't go back to her apartment in Manhattan. The reasons were a) she was cursed, though she didn't know that, and b) she was a mermaid.
Yep, out of nowhere, she could barely breath air and have fins. Huzzah!
Knowing that Reida would be fine breathing underwater, Diana dived into the ocean. The servant followed her, and lead her toward Poseidon's castle. Diana was offered to live there as a mermaid, though Reida still have two kicking legs. Poseidon wanted to take care of both of them, but then the gods would find out about Reida, and his whole goldy life will suffer. So with a heavy heart, Reida was given a shark tooth necklace and was sent to live with a family that despite her for no apparent reason.
The family treated her as though she barely exist. Heck, if she even dared to say one word, everyone would glare at her as though hell broke loose and it was all her fault. The constant mysterious attack didn't help, of course. Sometimes it's either the backyard, living room, the treehouse (she was never allowed to go up there, but she risked breaking the rule since she prefer to be alive), and even her own room that got wrecked like a hurricane had passed by. Reida tried to reason with her "family" that she was always chased by something, or at least being followed. And, that "something" was the one who wrecks the house by coming after her. Alas, since they are non-believers and cannot see through the Mist, they never believed her. Because of this, and the fear of being captured by her chaser, she signed up for a jujitsu class for some self-defense (and maybe to flip her host family, that would be a nice sight). The family didn't mind, 'cause it means that she won't wreck their house and be an annoying pain in the...you know what I mean.
After she was nearly thirteen, the family offered her a summer camp to spend her summer with, with a rather happy tone. This got the girl suspicious. But since it was a chance to escape living in hell, she accepted their offer. And so she was off on the road to Camp Half-Blood, disguised as Camp Long Island on the brochure. They then dropped her off nearby the forest leading to the camp. As soon as she stepped out of her ride, her annoying family were off, like nothing had ever sent her there. Feeling something was watching her and ready to finally get her that time, Reida ran off into the forest, hit a few trees (which result is her crooked nose), and somehow and fortunately made it to the camp safely.
In the camp, she found out her true origin, though she felt her brain ready to explode when she found out that her mom is now a mermaid. After getting claimed by Poseidon (which earned a dozen stares that made her knees wobbled), she was given a choice by the sea god to either join her parents or live at the camp with quests and stuff. She chose the latter, because she wanted to be with those like her. Poseidon respected her choice, and gave her the ability to control and breath water and control hurricanes, which he took away to reduce suspiciousness from the other Olympians.
Weapon: Reida has this shark tooth necklace that, if the tooth is pulled, can turn into a light sword made of celestial bronze and steel. If she need to disguised it as a tooth again, she simply need to twist the end of her sword's hilt, and put it through her lace.
Abilities: Hydrokinesis and atmokinesis. Along with being able to breath underwater.
Years at camp: Still on her first year.
Year-rounder or summer-only: Year-rounder, the mortal world sucks anyway.
Age: 13 years old
