Full Name: Roslyn Harmony Morlin
Age: Fifteen years old.
Appearance:
FC: Dodie Clark
Not much is very impressive with the appearance of Roslyn. Standing at a mere 5'2, the petite girl resembles more of a confused mouse than a ray of sunlight like her other half-siblings do. Possessing long brown, slightly wavy hair with a pair of doe-like widened equally as dark eyes to match, she would be much overlooked if it wasn't for the ukulele she keeps tucked in her arms at all times. The little instrument prone to stirring much confusion among some of the general population at her odd taste in music style, she simply shrugs it off and keeps the little uke' as practically a third arm. As she doesn't find herself very pretty in general, Roslyn can be found wearing quite simple makeup really, some mascara, and winged eyeliner being her most favorite style to bestow upon herself. Her sense of clothing style being the usual camp tee-shirt (tied up with a pony tail so it wasn't so baggy on her), a pair of jean shorts, some thin leather chords wrapped around her wrist with some tiny metallic charms of little music notes dangling from some of the thin strips, and oddly enough, a delicate little flower crown perched upon her head.
Though, as mentioned before, having a more mousy appearance, one little detail that is often etched in the hearts of the people she loves, is one of her only 'glowing' features. Roslyn has a brilliantly white smile, whether it was gifted to her, or just in her genes, she always seemed to be a very white beam even if she hadn't brushed her teeth for very few days. Along with the whiteness of her teeth, Roslyn has quite pale skin, though this isn't something she considers a gift very much. Prone to burning if she was even in direct sunlight for long amounts of times, she regards this with a grimace followed by a groan.
Another her attribute to her appearance is a condition of sorts she has had since she was a small child. Genu Varum, also known as 'Bow Legs', it is quite noticeable on and off when she is standing, but when she is walking, they revert back and forth between normal and upright,to slightly bent at the knees/lower thigh area. Roslyn is quite self-conscious about this condition she has. Roslyn often has to wear knee bands to help correct her stature when running.
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Olympian Parent: Apollo
Mortal Parent: Hannah Morlin
Personality:
Sweet: Always having been a very kind-hearted girl, Roslyn makes it one of her primary goals to be friendly to everyone she meets. Though she is definitely not a perfect person, the petite girl can always find at least a sliver of sympathy in her heart for anyone in need, whether good or bad.
Perfectionist: When Roslyn sets her mind to something, she aims to be the best she can be at that certain skill, working to herself until near perfection of something. Often growing frustrated if she can't hit her goal, she'll often hide away for a little while, strumming on her ukulele until her nerves have calmed and she can try again.
Optimistic: Always seeming to look on the good side of things, Roslyn is not a negative person in the slightest when it comes to the outcomes of situations. She'll always seem to be trying to find the light in the dark, however small and however a struggle it might be to do so. Rarely does she ever express dread openly to other people and jumps headfirst into cheering others up when things seem dire.
Curiosity: This often times being her downfall, Roslyn yearns to learn new information about the world around her. Though she often meddles in things she shouldn't, she still has a thirst for not being naive little girl many others have thought of her to be in the past.
Clumsy: Apollo certainly not being the god of hand-eye coordination, Roslyn seems to have had this flaw multiplied in her genes as she is the human version of an elephant walking on stilts. If you throw something at her, she will certainly drop it. If you expect her to navigate the furniture aisle of a store without bumping into a few things, then you are surely mistaken. It's quite sad really.
Soft-spoken: Not being your typical outspoken person, Roslyn often finds it difficult to even raise her voice to a normal indoor speaking voice. Many have not heard her normal talking voice, her tone varying between a gentle whisper and hushed coo. Only will her voice raise when she is singing, and only then.
Self-conscious: Being one of her more defining flaws, Roslyn often is very conscious of her actions and physical features. This flaw tying in with her trait of perfectionism and her need to be better, this could push Roslyn to be a bit less confident in her actions as a human being.
Roslyn is quite the odd mix of a person thrown into a fifteen year old's body. All in all, Roslyn classifies herself as a pretty 'average' person, she dislikes rainy days, blood, and of course her arch enemy, obstacle courses. But, she also likes, her ukulele (of course), music pretty much in general, friends, and nature. Her absolute worst fears are, having to run an obstacle course without falling at least once, thunder/lightning, and heights. Roslyn, when unsure of herself, can be seen fidgeting with her uke', playing with her hair in a rather odd fashion of twirling locks of it between her fingers then tugging on it as hard as she can, or even playing little notes on her instrument to calm her nerves. Roslyn knows she has pretty bad coordination, and if she's having a pretty bad day, can be seen holding onto nearby objects for balance to avoid a pretty comical fall that is sure to come. Even though she may seem a shy person with her naturally soft-spoken voice, Roslyn actually yearns for the company of family and friends and rejoices if she is surrendered by her loved ones.
History: Roslyn grew up in a pretty normal household from the age of birth to twelve years old. Her kindhearted mother named Hannah, her mothers boyfriend turned fiance when she was about seven (named Jason), and her little brother that her mother had with Jason when Roslyn was about nine, named Saturn. The young girl grew up around music and musical instruments as her mother was a local middle school band directer, and her mother's boyfriend was the drummer in a quite popular indie folk band called the Free Trees. Roslyn had no idea who her father was, and whenever she happened to ask her mother, Hannah would simply sigh and give a vague answer such as 'he had more important business' or, 'he decided a poetry slam was more important than family life.' Though Roslyn would often grow resentful of her father, she learned to forgive and let go, and that's what she simply did.
As Roslyn grew, she learned that was particulary adept at musical instruments from a young age, though there was one that grew quite attached to that seemed to stick with her through her early childhood years, into preteens, and then into her early teenage years and that happened to be the ukulele. Roslyn received her first ukulele at the age of seven, and set on the long path of mastering the skill. Things began to shift when Roslyn reached her preteens, on her birthday of her thirteenth year in the world, Roslyn sat in band class, strumming her little ukulele. Things seemed to shift in the air, and her ears suddenly popped as the tympony nearest her burst into flames and out ripped a scaly monster that looked like a half-human, half-reptilian high bred.
The first thing Roslyn did was swing her ukulele in defense and slight confusion before she realized that would do no good (and it would hurt her precious baby!), the second thing she did was scream, and the third thing she did, or was pretty much forced to do, was yanked from the room by a boy of about sixteen years old. He was the teacher's assistant of the day, Roslyn had noted, he had also seemed to be the pet-zoo attraction for the day as he had goat hooves for feet. Through many confused tears that streamed down her face and a slew of questions to follow, the boy hurriedly explained his whole Greek God spiel, and Roslyn forced to herself to accept it, it couldn't be any weirder than the lizard lady that had just tried to eat her. After a long car ride and a two hour long call to her mom, she was soon whisked away to Camp Half Blood with her ukulele and the clothes on her back, where she has stayed there since.
Weapons: A dagger for self-defense.
Abilities: Roslyn has quite an adept musical ability (she has a wide variety of knowledge including various different instruments), Vitakinesis; Roslyn is quite gifted at healing as much as she is musically skilled. (If this is an okay power to have) Soothing music. When Roslyn plays a certain special song on her ukulele and sings a series of notes along to it, that she learned from an unknown source when she was fourteen, she can subdue an enemy and reduce them to a mellow state for as long as she is singing the song.
Years at camp: 2nd year.
Year-rounder or summer-only camper?: Year-rounder.
Pet: She had a song bird named Chirp once, when she lived with her mom.
Theme Songs:
-Truce by |twenty one pilots|
-Flightless Bird, American Mouth by Iron & Wine
-Here's 'Roslyn' (*cough* Dodie my queen *cough*) singing with one of her 'siblings' Song: The Moon Song
