Personality: Mako is shy and reserved boy that loves to go fishing and read. Is shy about his sharp teeth and avoids talking as much as he can so people don't make fun of him and wishes he looked normal. Has a violent and bloodthirsty side when he smells blood.
History: Mako's mum, Ariel was an Australian moving to america with her friends for her graduation from University. They stopped in New Smyrna, Florida, for a week of surfing and drinking. Ariel stayed a bit out later then her friends as they left to get a late lunch, trying to score a few last good waves when as she was catching a barrel a blond head popped out of the water throwing her off course and causing her to wipe out. Annoyed she tore the sheepish blonde a preverbal new one and as an apology the young blonde swimmer introduced himself as Paul and offered to take her out to dinner. Figuring to get a free meal out of it she agreed. They hit it off and spend the rest of the week hanging out and then they hopped in the sack and drunken the night away. She soon fell for him the longer they were together so she moved to the town he was living with him. When she found out she was pregnant she was scared that he wouldn't want it, so she hid it at first. He he knew. He stopped smelling blood during that time. So he proposed that she revel a secret and he would do the same, so she reveled she was pregnant and he reveled that he was Palaemon, greek god of sharks and ports/shores. He then explained that he wasn't going to be able to help her raise the child and all that was going to happen. She was horrified and upset to say the least.
Nine months later an orphanage in florida found a bearly month old baby on their door step crying with a tufted a blond hair.
Mako was always a quite boy that preferred his own company then to be a social butterfly, plus the other kids always laughed at his teeth and made fun of him for it, calling him a monster and other mean things. That was until Ted Peterson adopted him, he was 9 at the time. Going through school was difficult for him as he didn't like to talk much. One day when he was just getting home from school he heard crashed coming from inside and rushing inside he saw a giant of a man ripping the place chasing his dad, his single eye swiveling in rage. His dad paused seeing him standing there in shock and told him to run but as he did the cyclops finally grabbed him and crushed his skull in his hand, spraying the ground and wall with blood and that was when Mako blacked out. when he came to he was on a train with a old looking man. He introduced himself as Fredric a sytr that had been following the cyclops and was to late to save his father but arrived and saw Mako ripping the throat out of a bleeding and bitten cyclops. He had washed up and changed his clothes and told him that he was taking him to a place where he was going to be safe.
Mako had didn't know what to think and was shocked and grieving for his late dad. hoping that the man was telling the truth he let him lead him to this camp half-blood.
