Wingman (Private)

Adella stopped pounding on the door, but she stopped a little too late. As her hand went towards the door the front part of her wrist went forward while the bone went backward, causing Adella to result in a whip lash. 'Crap." Adella muttered, holding her right wrist in her left hand and rolling her wrist to ease the tension. Adella's eyes fluttered to the person standing in front of her, her eyes bright and shining. 'Oh, Good. The person I wanted to see." Adella dropped her wrist to the side, and walked shifted her weight to her left hip. "Luke, right?" Adella asked, like she didn't already know. Uhm, she probably knew more then Luke knew about himself. She had spent hours with Fletch, him going on and on about how perfect Luke was. Seriously. he probably spent an hour on his 'gorgeous, shining hair' alone. Mouth to mouth? Gods Luke.

Adella rolled her eyes, but followed Luke into the cabin anyway. She shut the door behind her, locking it slyly as she did. No way was Luke getting out of here without answering her questions. 'So Luke." Adella asked eyeing the beds. Good. Empty. With a quick scan of the room, she had confirmed it was deserte4d as well. 'Fancy any one?" Adella said, pulling off the casual interest.

Adella looked at Luke like was was stupid. Um, her liking him? Uh-uh. No way. Nada. If she was to like someone, it would be someone totally..not Luke. No offense or anything, but Luke just didnt have that pull.  Someone who dyes their hair? No thank you. "Yeah, I know. I don't live under a rock." Why would Luke think that she liked him? So weird. "I was just wondering because I heard this girl talking about asking you to the dance so..." Adella lied through her teeth. Did they even have dances? Way to go Adella. Seriously, do you research next time. Athena huh? Ugh, she once might a really annoying Athena kid. They are all the same, right? "Oh. Athena? Guess you have a thing for geeks." Adella said. Point Adella. Make him defensive. Angry people always spill their secrets. Well, thats what she read about boys. She doesn't really spend a lot of time with them. Besides Fletch. But Fletch could never get angry. hes always happy. Always. Shes tried to make him mad once. Didn't work.

Adella sighed, placing her right hand on her hip. Gods Luke. Just admit it already. Well, not that he liked Fletch. That was her ission. But maybe she could convince him to like him? Slyly mention comments about how great he is. "Fine," Adella said, dropping the act. Well, pretending to drop it. No way was he going to find out her mission. "I'm Susan." Adella lied, using her sister's name. No way was he going to find any connections between her and Fletch. She can't, repeat, can't blow this mission. Adella didn't know why it was so important to her. Probably because she didn't want to let Fletch down. Who knows? Whatever the reason, she was going to succeed, and threaten Luke unless he didn't give the right answer. "I'm simply trying to find out what your interests are. Like, bonding. Right? We're distant cousins or whatever." Adella said, not really thinking about the words that were coming out of her pale mouth. her mind was too busy whirring. Um, Fletch was definitely not an Athena kid. She was going to have to find out who this person is and kill them. Nobody gets in the middle of Adella's one true pairing. Once again, Adella found herself asking on why she even cared. When Adella only came up with the obvious answer, she mentally made a disgusted face and shoved the thought into her deepest section of her brain. Focus Adella. If you get sidetracked, he could slip away.

But why do you care? That annoying, nagging voice of her own came back into Adella's thinking process, and completely blocked out any of the other parts. Why do I care, Adella thought. It's not like it pertains her or anything. Maybe she just didn't want him to get hurt, she reasoned. She has to have some soul left, right? Its not like she was a ginger.
Shut up. Shut it forever. Adella placed her hands behind her back to obscure them from Luke and started digging her nails into her palm, the pain distracting her. Listen, Adella. Observe.

Adella looked at Luke. Why had she never thought of that before? Gods Adella. You're such an idiot. "Um..." Adella nervously rubbed her hands on the front of her blue jeans, the only not silver or gray piece of clothing she had on. "Um.." She repeated, her voice seeming like she couldn't force it out. "I guess ts about boys..." Adella trailed off, hoping she knew the answer. 'But all of us are so close it would be weird if we liked each other that way." Yes. perfect opening. 'But people liking each other of the same gender isn't weird. Its who they are." Adella said, trying to coax Luke into admitting his deep, undying lone for Fletch.

Ah, yes. perfect. This so called 'bonding' was working well. "Lets see." Adellas mind was sluggish, causing irritation. Seriously? brain block. The feeling that you got when you have been staring at a word problem too long and your brain gets fried is the sensation that was occupying Adella. How can her brain go from lighting to snail speed in such a short amount of time. "Who is your bestest ever friend?" Adella asked, the words slipping right off her tongue. Another thing that changed. A few moments ago, she could even say the word hello. Now? She could spell Mississippi without messing up. Woah. What if she had bipolar disorder? That would stink. Adella. Focus. Stupid ADHD. What? Bestest isn't even a word. "I mean your closest. or person you tell everything to. You know what I mean." Hopefully. How awkward would it be if he actually didn't know what she meant? If he didn't, Fletch likes an Idiot.
