A Trip To Monster Donut

The arrow almost turned Max's brain into mush, luckily it only went halfway in. Jay swerved the car in surprise and the car began fishtailing. Max was shaken back and forth in the back seat of the car because he didn't put his seatbelt on. Once the car stopped fishtailing, Max sat upright and listened to Tyler. "Yeah, the pistol." Max grabbed the gun from his back pocket and held it up for Tyler to look at. "I might able to hit him from h-" Another arrow came soaring through the window, becoming lodged in halfway again. There was now a large crack linking both entry points of the arrows. Max gulped. "If he keeps shooting, this window is going to give out! And then Jay's a sitting duck!" Max turned to his right and tried to roll down his window. A whirring sound and a clunk led Max to believe the window was broken. "Jay, are you serious?!" "Hey! Don't judge me! I spent it on more important things!" Max sighed and looked to Tyler. "Look away!" Max sat sideways on the seat, his back to Tyler. He shut his eyes and squeezed the trigger on his pistol, shooting the window out. Glass fell on Max's shoes, but he kicked it off. Using the gun's barrel to clean off any excess glass, Max made it safe enough so he could lean out of the window without spilling his guts. Max stretched out his hands and used the bottom of the window to pull himself into a kneeling position. From there, he gently leaned out of the window and tried to take aim at the centaur. As soon as his head left the window, an arrow flew past it, almost giving him a haircut. Max fell back inside onto his back, landing on Tyler. "Yeah, I don't think I can shoot him with a pistol."

Max barely had time to lift his arm up in defense before Jay slammed on the breaks. The sudden stop from seventy miles per hour to zero was not pleasant, and it had sent the vehicle's two backseat passengers colliding into the front seats of the car. Max's quick arm movement shielded his face against the back of the car seat, so he had probably prevented a broken nose. Max silently thanked his reflexes when the car jerked forward again. The centaur had collided into the back of the car, his human half leaning over the trunk while his horse half had left a considerably large dent in the back of Jay's car. The centaur's bow was launched from his hands, it skidding up and over the car. Jay could see the bow resting on the front windshield wipers. As for the centaur, he was still dazed. Tyler quickly told him to shoot the beast, so Max leaned over the back seat. "Cover your eyes again!" Max put his left arm over his eyes as he used his right hand to squeeze the trigger. A collection of lead and glass pierced the centaur's skin before he could recuperate, and he was reduced to nothing more than dust. The bow that was resting on the windshield turned to dust as well. Jay rolled his eyes and turned on his windshield wipers, the dust now being shoved off to the side of the car. Max breathed a sigh of relieve and turned to Tyler. "Nice job man!" He gave Tyler a high five then kept his hand up for Jay. Jay just looked at him with deadpan eyes, then he looked around the car. Max did as well, noticing three windows that were practically shattered and a dented truck with dust all over it.
"Eh, sorry Jay. I'll pay for the damag-"
"Seventy percent." Jay interrupted him.
"What?"
"Seventy percent, due to the damage that has happened to my car, I am taking seventy percent of the spoils."
Max gave him an agitated look, but eventually sighed and agreed. He risked Tyler and his life for only thirty percent of the coffee and doughnuts. It was messed up. Max looked back to Tyler, "You, my friend, did amazing. I need to take you on all of the coffee runs from now on."
