Personality: Kipp isn't the type to stand out in any particular way at first glance, though once you get to know him, it is often found that he is a great friend. He's a shoulder to cry on, someone to confide your secrets in, and someone you can depend on to lift you up when you're down. In fact, he takes great pride in being a good friend, and he often finds himself in distress when he knows someone dislikes him. He is very self-conscious, and when he hears that his efforts to be friendly were perceived as rude, it crushes him. He is most certainly an extrovert, and he finds that when he's alone it's draining. He is always ready to try new things, though he can get quite frustrated when he doesn't pick something up after a few tries, and he often gives up quickly. He's quite laid-back and easy going, and it's hard to get him really angry. He's quick to trust others, and he always believes in second chances. He always sees the good in others, and he thinks that anyone can change if they really want to. Saying this, he is incredibly naive and gullible, so it is easy to fool him. Sometimes Kipp doesn't really act his age, which is most likely because he was forced to grow up too quickly. He doesn't mind having to mature quickly though, and at times he does act like a normal twelve year old boy might.
Kipp enjoys many things. He loves hiking, and running, and swimming, and baking. He's a complete perfectionist, so everything he does has to be done right. He finds happiness in keeping things neat and tidy around him, and when things are excessively dirty or messy, it tends to make him uncomfortable. It is typical of a Hypnos child to love to sleep, and Kipp is no exception. He loves sinking into his bed after a long day and closing his eyes. He loves dreams most of all though, and they're often when he looks forward to most at the end of a day. When he's having a bad day, he sleeps. When he's contemplating something big, he sleeps on it. Sleep always puts him in a better mood, and this is the simple reason why he loves it so much. One thing Kipp hates, is when people are crazily ambitious. He thinks there's nothing worse than someone who only ever wants to win, and he often tries to avoid playing any games with them. He also tends to dislike activities that draw out for a long time and require lots of thought, such as chess, fishing or golf. He gets bored with things like that easily, and he much prefers something that keeps him constantly busy and engaged.
Kipp tends to have lots of nervous habits, and seeing as he gets nervous quite easily, they often show up. He'll tap his fingers on any surface in sight, chew his fingernails, curl his hands in and out of fists, laugh wheezily, run his fingers through his hair, and even chew the inside of his cheek. It's crazy how much he does all of these habits, and they often show up when he's either nervous, scared, or embarrassed -which is often.
History: Kipp's parents, Hypnos and Zoey, met at a museum where one of Zoey's pieces were being featured. Zoey was there answering questions about the piece, and Hypnos asked her what she had intended the meaning of the painting to be. Her answer intrigued him, and they began talking even more. Zoey spent the rest of the night talking with him, first about her artwork, then about herself. By the end of the night, they were both intrigued. They made plans to see each other again, and then again, and again. They dated for five months before Zoey got pregnant with his child. She was shocked, and scared to tell him, though she did. He chose this exact moment to tell her that he wasn't a normal mortal, but rather a god. Talk about some shocking news. She tried to understand when he said that he couldn't raise a child with her, though it was hard. He told her of camp half-blood, and did his best to help her, before he left. Once Hypnos left, Zoey decided it was time for a change. and she moved from her home in California, America, and moved to Quebec, Canada.
Nine months after Hypnos left and Zoey moved to Quebec, Kipp was born. Growing up, Kipp had a great life. His mother loved him, he was perfectly healthy, and he got average grades in school. He loved his mother very much, and she loved him. She was his best friend, and he knew he could always confide in her. When he had a problem at school, she was who he went to. When he was over-joyed because he scored his first goal in soccer, she was the loudest in the audience. In school, Kipp got alright grades. They weren't great, they weren't terrible, they were just...average. That didn't bother him though, as long as he was getting by. He was always more concerened with friends anyways. He made friends easily, and while he wouldn't consider himself exactly popular, he was definetly well-liked. Growing up, Kipp was told his father died before he was born. He was only told the truth when the monsters started showing up. He was ten when it started, and having been so young, he was terrified. His mother had wanted to keep him in the dark longer, but she had no choice. She told him that he was a demigod, his father being Hypnos. He was shocked, to say the least. They made quick arrangements to get him to camp-halfblood, and a few months later, he was moving in. He misses his mother when he's at camp half-blood, though in the fall, winter, and spring he does go to live with her, given it's safe.
Weapons: Kipp has no magical items, though he does have a spear that one of his friends in the Hephastus cabin made for him, which he prefers to fight with it.
