Age: 19, celebrates his birthday on May 24th (he is actually born November 2nd, but he doesn't know it so he shares his birthday with his ex-girlfriend, well, he used to. See history for more info, as soon as I am done writing it XD)

Zeff is tall, lean and well muscled and with a pair of six-pack abs,being approximately 6'1" inches and weighing 179 lbs. Most of the time he wears a black t-shirt with a black leather jacket, dark pants and boots, together with a pair of sunglasses that he either wears on his nose, stuffed in one of his many secret pockets (don't ask where they are, it's best if you don't know) or like the picture shows. He always carries around a broken, small, golden pocket watch that is attached to a silver chain.
Zeff doesn't have pyjamas as he doesn't sleep very much, at least not in his bed. He sleeps outside, hidden of course, or on the roof. Sometimes he goes into the forest to snooze out the night, keeping high up in the trees as to not get noticed (he's just like a monkey, just without the fur and the tail, sadly).
Zeff's way of walking is confident yet nonchalant, his hand stuffed in his pocket and with a slight swagger and a swing to his hips. He moves with the grace of a cat and he barely makes a sound when he moves, being naturally silent. Though if he so desires he can move without a sound (though he doesn't do unless on a quest and/or when no one else is around as he doesn't want people to know what he is capable of. Better have a few cards up your sleeve, as he says).
He has a small scar on the left side of his forehead as well as a small cut on his upper lip. There are several other small scars here and there on his body, but nothing major or really noticeable.

Personality: Zeff is cunning, smart, tricky, manipulative and sneaky. An extremely good liar, he keeps his secrets close at heart and doesn't share them with anyone, well at least not the real ones. He has built himself a complete fake background and secrets, a courtesy of his vast imagination. He is an alleged kleptomaniac, feeling the irresistible urge to steal. He is unable to control it and he tends to snatch things from others without realizing it or get noticed, though normally he would put it back unless it is something he really likes.
Manipulation is second nature to him, something he does unconsciously and without thinking. He finds it disturbingly easy to trick people and he barely have to try to accomplish it.
Trust is something Zeff has very little of, honestly you could say he has zero of it. He only trusts people as far as he can throw them, and that isn't really far. Even though he may claim to trust people, he doesn't, no matter how convincing he is. He doesn't even trust his own family or friends, not that he many friends.
Zeff's lack of friends is mainly because of his trust issues, his fatal flaw. He doesn't trust anyone, thus he never opens up to anyone about the truth, only with the lies and the fake life he has built around himself. This is a fact that no one knows about, everyone thinks that what he says is true because he is such a good liar, nor do they know about his trust issues, though some may be suspicious of it.
Despite all this, he has a good heart deep down and even a bit of a conscience. He can be kind and considerate, and he very loyal to people he loves. He is very humble, denying his own skills and talents. Though he is still generally a person one should not trust, however he is very good at pretending to be innocent.
When around other people he keeps a nice, solid frontier, flirting with everyone, even with a simple hello and a wink. As a bonus he is a really good flirt and he seems to have a special talent for worming his way into people's hearts. This special talent is due to him having some sort of magnetic charm, a skill that comes quite in handy when seducing someone.
However, his frontier hides more than just his sneaky self, it also hides tremendous guilt and heartache. Blaming himself for the events that transipired when he learned of his godly roots, he attempts to forget about it all and his life before by pretending to be someone he is not, something he doesn't find particular different, though it still hurts him deeply.
Zeff can be prone to sarcastic outbursts, especially when he is nervous, stressed, annoyed and/or angry, and he can deliver a good quip here and there. He has a good sense for humor and a knack for telling jokes, and he really likes to prank people.
He has a very turbulant air around him and his emotions is a complete roller coaster, capable of changing within seconds. The emotions he get can range from sad, angry, happy and irritated within less than five seconds and they are constantly changing. For instance, if he had had an argument with someone, he would be pretty angry, but then suddenly the anger would be replaced by joy for no apparent reason. Zeff is also extremely unpredictable, it is impossible to guess what he will do next as even he doesn't know. He is the kind of guy who takes it as it goes, doesn't bother with planning and just does it, though he is fully capable of formulating good and effficient plans, especially when it comes to breaking and entering, in other words theft.
When he speaks, Zeff's voice is calm, seducing and with a hint of mischief, his eyes seem to glow with charm and he speaks like that of a silver-tongued snake, quite hard to resist if one do not know how his charm and to those weak of will. This is something he does without really thinking, it's natural to him, though he is aware of the effect it can have on others.
Zeff doesn't know what his favourite food or color is. He doesn't even know what kind of music he likes. The fact that he don't know anything about himself is very frustrating for him, and it bothers him that he knows so little about himself. Though he keeps telling himself that it doesn't bother him. The only thing he is completely certain about is his love for science-fiction. He absolutely loves it and he is a complete geek about it, having seen every Star Wars and Star Trek movie, cartoon and read all the comics (a fact he is very proud of). Another thing he knows he likes is playing cards and he can often be seen with a deck of cards in his hands.
Zeff really like to play poker and other money betting games, it gives him the thrills and makes him excited. But if there is one thing he can't get enough of, it is theft. To him, theft is the same intercourse is for many adults. It is his drive, he practically lives of it and there is nothing more fun for him then breaking into someones house and stealing their stuff. If somethings missing he is the most likely culprit.
On top of this, Zeff has a rather strange obsessions with clocks. He always carries several dozens of clocks around, hidden on his body, like in his socks for instance. Though out of all his clocks, he treasures one small, broken, golden pocket watch the most. He is never without it and if he loses it he become completely frantic, searcing desperately for it as if it was an object that would decide the difference between life and deat. The reason for this obsession is unknown, but he can often be seen fiddling with a watch or two, trying to “fix” the timers. Zeff has an innate ability to know what time it is at any given moment, and it drives him nuts when a clock is even a second to late or fast. He absolutely have to fix it or he won't be able to sleep at all. Though for some strange reason it doesn't bother him that much when it is one minute more or less.
While he knows nothing of his likes he do know what he doesn't like. Zeff doesn't like "party-poopers" as he calls them, the color white (too innocent looking), the Apollo-cabin ("poetic punks who all use the same weapon" direct quote made by him), flashy color (easily detected and/or noticed if wearing it), people who eat with their mouths open and people who cluck out loud in a silent romm (it really ticks him off and makes him go nuts), losing in poker and lastly, romance movies (makes him squeamish, he thinks such movies are stupid and unrealistic, which is really quite ironic coming from a guy who likes sci-fi).
The reason for why he knows so little about himself and his likes, is because he has created so many different versions of himself, fake backgrounds and stories, that he doesn't know what is real or not,thus resulting in him having a bit of an identity problem. Another reason is the fact that he has no idea when he was born or who is parents are, mortal and godly, which makes him question who he is and his own existence.
History: The story of Liane Fils-Aime is a tragic one indeed. Once a beautiful french women with all that which a heart desires, to a pitiful, homeless women with nothing but ragged clothes. Reduced to live on the streets of NYC, she could barely make it by as she got increasingly sick. Still, she cared for others rather then herself, for she was not the only homeless. She begged and pleaded every passerby and whatever money she recieved she spent buying food, water and medicine that she gave to other homeless people, for she was truly a selfless woman. It was during this time that she met Hermes.
Infatuated by her selflessness and kindness, he took her off the streets and into a motel. Once there he cleaned her and gave her food and new clothes. Liane, who had not experienced such kindness nor been shown such charity fell for him, her knight in shining armor. Together they spent the night in the motel, but as soon as the sun rose, Hermes was gone, off for some godly errand, leaving nothing but a hastily written note behind.
Angry and grief-stricken, Liane did not bother to read the note, she simply crumbled it and threw it into the trash can, before leaving. Had she read the note however, she would have known the reason for why Hermes left and what the child she now bore was, but she would never know.
As the months passed, she grew weaker and weaker, lack of food and water making it hard for a pregnant women. Still, despite her problems she still cared for others more than she did herself and continued to look after everyone else but herself.
Nine months after she met Hermes, she gave birth to her son. Weak and malnourished, she knew that she would not survive, but before her death she wishpered her son's name, a name he would never hear spoken. In her last breath she blessed him, placing a kiss on his forehead before she died.
Hermes returned shortly afterwards, only to find that Liane was dead and the baby gone. Believing the child to be dead he left without even searching for him.
Shortly after his birth, he had been found by a man with the name of Dell Curtis, a notorious criminal and the leader of a band of thieves. Dell took the boy as his own son and gave him the name of Zeff, bringing him to his home.
Zeff was raised by the band of thieves, learning the ways of theft before he could even walk and trained in the arts of the bo staff. By the age of five he was a master at the art lockpicking and pickpocketing and at the age of ten he was so skilled as a thief he could hardly get noticed. It was said he was the best thief the band had ever seen, though he denied that himself, stating that he wasn't that good, a nod to his rather humble side.
During his time with the band he grew a close bond with his sister or at least who he thought was his sister, Fay (at this point in time he doesn't know that he is adopted). He was also close to his father, however their relationship didn't really go beyond that of respect and slight familiar love. His mother (the adoptive one, Gina, not his real one) had died when he just months old so he doesn't remember.
When Zeff was twelve he met a girl called Regina, another member of the band of thieves. They met while on a mission to steal some valuable family heirloom from some random rich dude in NYC. Both had a mission in the same house, only they were going to steal two different objects. It was love at first sight for the both of them, and they quickly hit it off, entering a romantic relationship that would last for years. The two helped each other and managed to complete the mission without getting detected.
Zeff and Regina continued to meet one another both at home and while on missions. Their relationship got stronger and stronger, but still none confessed their love for one another untill they were fifteen years of age when Zeff told her during the shooting of the New Years Eve fireworks (really romantic, what a Romeo!).
Zeff learned that he was adopted when he turned thirteen, a fact that made him enraged and furious, prompting him to try an run away from home, though Regina managed to talk him out of it. Up to this point, he had no birthday and had never celebrated one, something which had aggravated him tremendously. He had never understood why his father had never celebrated his birthday, but after he learned the truth he knew it was because his so called "father" had no idea when he was born. Regina offered that he could celebrate his birthday with her. At first, Zeff declined the offer, not liking it one bit, but after a bit of convincing he agreed, though he still didn't like it. It was that same year, on Regina's ( now his own as well) birthday, that he got his first present, the golden pocket watch.
Throughout the years he had been hunted down by monster, though he was never aware of this fact. The reason they didn't attack him was because he was hard to find, he never kept still on one place and was almost constantly doing something, most of the time he was running parkour on the roofs or other places available. It wasn't until the age of 18 that he made his first encounter with a monster.
Zeff was attacked by not one, but two monsters. One of the monsters was an Empousai while the other was a Stymphalian bird. He was not alone during the attack, he was together with Regina. The two had just finished a mission and was having a picnic in one of the NYC parks, as close to a normal life as two thieves could get, when the monsters attacked. Having spent a lifetime of training the two manged to avoid getting hit and injured by the monsters as they made a run for it, heading towards the base of the band of thieves.
However, before they could reach the HQ, Regina was caught by the Stymphalian bird. Zeff turned around to rescue her, but before he could reach her he was assaulted by the Empousai. The Empousai wounded him to the side of his head, giving him a permament scar. He was almost knocked out, but he managed to stay conscious and wriggle free of the monsters grasp due to his experience. Using a bo staff (the common weapon amongst the thieves) he kept the Empousai at arms lenght while he leapt for Regina, but it was already to late. The Stymphalian bird had killed her and was eating her, too absorbed in the meal to notice Zeff.
In rage, he struck out against the bird, hitting it viciously. Completely blinded by rage and grief he fought the two monsters, managing to fend of the Empousai and gravelly wounding the Stymphalian bird, most likely killing it in the process.
Shortly thereafter, the police arrived, having been called by some terrified mortal who had heard or seen the commotion. Zeff ran away , taking the body of Regina with him, not wanting to get caught by the police as he would most definitely get blamed for the deaths and because if he got caught they would find that he wasn't registered in the folk register.
As fast as he could he ran home and relayed the news to the rest of the family and showed them Regina's body. A few days later a funeral was held in which the entire band participated in (the band was/is a very tight family, despite the fact that not all of them are related).
During Zeff's battle with the monsters, the empousai had told him what he was as well as mentioned Camp Half-Blood. They had also said, right before they fled, that even he had defeated them more monsters would keep coming and attack him.
Fearing for the lives of his fellow thieves, Zeff left the band to search for the camp. Luckily it didn't take him long and he only encountered one other monster. A satyr found him while he searched for the camp and brought him there, where he has stayed ever since.
Zeff has never told anyone of his criminal roost nor of his ties with the band of thieves (OOC: they seriously need a name), as he didn't think the other campers would appreciate a criminal amongst them). As a matter of fact he has told no one anything about himself or his past other than lies.
During his stay at the camp, he gained a few "friends", though they aren't really his friends, he just pretends that they are, while in actuality they are more like acquaintances, if even that. Because, seriously, they know shit about him, in other words nothing.
Zeff has been on several missions while at the camp, mostly to go fetch new demigods and bring them safely to camp, nothing major or important. He is aware of the whole Charlie Zimmerman business, but doesn't care much for it all. Honestly, he doesn't really want to stay at the camp, the only reason he is there is to protect his family from further harm, even if it means never seeing them again.
Weapons: A telescopic bronze bo staff custom made by the Hephaestus cabin called Kléfti̱s (κλέφτης) and two celestial twin daggers, one for each hand. The left one is called Kleidariá (κλειδαριά) and the right one is called Tsépi̱ (τσέπη). The bo staff can be extended and shrunk (in other words telescopic for those who doesn't know that). While in it's normal form it is around 1.8 m (180 cm) and in it's shrunk form it is about 0.36 m (36 cm). The full lenght it can be expanded at the moment is 3.6 m (360 cm). When he is not using his staff it is either stuffed in his pockets or in the form of a golden wrist watch, a form he personally requested.
Abilities:
-Skilled in theft and trickery to the point were he cannot get noticed
-High athletic ability
-He is persuasive and can easily get what he wants and can make people believe his lies.
-Able to pick locks with their minds
-He can sense physical traps
-He is good at making potions and alchemy
-Good with money
-He is extremely fast and acrobatic, to the point of being almost olympic level (a trait given to him after a whole life worth of rigerous training)
-Master in the art of parkour and Bōjutsu, a japanese martial arts style utilizing a bo staff
-He can blend into a crowd as easily as a knife cuts to butter if he so desires to
Note: He doesn't use his skills openly and no one really knows what he is capable of doing. Also with his skills he won't have much problem going up the climbing wall. Zeff only trains when others isn't around as he doesn't like and/or want other people to be around or see him train, according to him it makes him uncomfortable.
