Full Name:
Diable or Le Frai du Diable (the first means devil, while the second means Spawn of the Devil, both is directly translated from french). Currently he goes by the alias of Robert Dale
Age:
19
Description or Play-by:
Diable is very tall for his age, being 6'1" tall, in other words 185.42 centimeters, and he is also very lean and muscular. He is very masculine shaped with a v-shaped torso, broad shoulders, long muscular legs, a square jaw and clearly defined muscles and abs. His hair is a dark, ruddy red and is nothing but a tangled mess of spiky and curly, resembling a mop, being dirty and greasy and practically impossible to lay flat. His skin is a light tan with a few darker hues and he is covered in small scars, scrapes and bruises, as well as burn marks and several other wounds. He has an angular, yet slightly oval face, with flat eyebrows and an aquiline nose, along with a bow-shaped lip. His eyes are hooded (the crease on his eyelids are visible) and they are a burning red. The reason for this unusual eye color is due to leakage of blood into his iris. Unfortunately, his eyes are very sensitive to light and he always have to wear sunglasses, the only exception being at night or in very dark places.
Despite his unruly appearance he is still considered handsome by many people, girls and boys alike.
Diable only has one set of clothes, consisting of a black sweater with a pink T-shirt, black tactical pants and combat boots and a light brown, slightly beige coat, reaching to just below the kneecaps. He wears gloves covering both his hands except for his middle finger and index finger. His coat and pants have many hidden and secret pockets that Diable uses to store various items in different shapes and sizes, and on his pants he has well hidden pouches on both sides of hips that he uses to store his two twin daggers.
Sexuality:
Bisexual
Olympian Parent:

Mortal Parent:

Personality:
When around people, Diable, or rather Robert, as he calls himself, is very snarky and he can make a good quip here and there. He is flirtatious to the point of being annoying, and he seems to take great pleasure in irritating others. He's a master of witty one-liners and has an abundance of charisma and self-confidence. He has a magnetizing charm around him that he throws about, especially when flirting, and he can be very hard to resist at times, thus he can easily persuade people to do what he asks them to. However, his charisma tends to seem fake and it is quite possible for people to see through it and thus being rendered impervious to its effects.
He is not exactly kind, but he isn't outright mean eiher, though he can say rather hurtful things at times, but he tends to apologize afterward. He is rather enigmatic and he never gives straightforward answers to anything, instead speaking in riddles or so vaguely that no one but him really know what he is talking about.
However, this is nothing but a facade, a mask that hides the real him, a protective barrier that keeps his innermost thoughts and secrets buried. Though, the facade is still a part of him, (as a matter of fact it is a part of the real him) except that he is much more in control of himself and less dangeous than when he is the real him.
The real Diable is cunning, smart, tricky, manipulative, and sneaky, amazingly so. He won't hesitate to manipulate people if it for his benefit or if he thinks he can gain something from it, or simply to entertain himself. He has no qualms when it comes to killing, especially if he thinks they deserve it, but if there is one thing he cannot tolerate it is the murder of innocent people.
He is wild and untamed, guided by his instincts (and they are very sharp) he is completely and utterly unpredictable, it is impossible to know what he will do or say and he can even be volatile.
Diable has a great deal of pride and he follows his own code of honor, and he is very strict when following it and refuses to break it even when he knows it will cause trouble for both himself and others. His code of honor is extremely important to him as it gives him a sense of self, something he sorely lacks.
He is not the kind of guy to settle down with anything, especially when it comes to relationships. Diable has attachment issues, meaning that he finds it very difficult to form bonds with other people, associate with others or become emotionally involved with someone, whether it be a platonic relationship or just simple acquaintances. He keeps his distance from people and is very cynical of others, even those that consider him a friend. He doesn't trust anyone, not even himself. He has little to no understanding of the social network or the meaning behind close-knit bonds, such as that to family, friends, neighbors etc. If he were to get attached to, say a girlfriend of his, he still wouldn't settle down and he would flirt with other girls, but he would never really cheat as he finds it disgusting and dishonoring. This shows his devotion to his code of honor and little bit of moral he has.
Just as with his facade, he has an enormous amount of charisma, the only difference being that when he is himself his charisma is much more natural and doesn't appear fake. It is much harder to resist, but not impossible if one has a strong will. When using his charisma, in both the fake him and the real him,his eyes will twinkle and his voice will become seductive and silky. He is almost as snarky and just a much a quip as his facade, but slightly more controlled.
Diable is extremely smart and cunning, not to mention sly, and he is a very good actor capable of altering his behavior and personality according to the people he is with. Double-crossing and tricking people is second-nature for him and he finds it disturbingly easy to manipulate people. While he is more of an improvising kind of guy, he is fully capable of creating and formulating complex and intricate plans, though his plans is never really complete and is more of a rough outline. He is the only one who can understand his own plans as many of them have several layers and is very complicated, not to mention crazy and something most sane people wouldn't dare to even think of doing.
He is very intelligent, though he doesn't show it. Most of the time he pretends to be stupid and a know-nothing kind a dude. After all,it takes a genius to play dumb.
Whether Diable is in his right mind or not could be debated as he himself really isn't sure. He has been called insane, crazy and worse by many people, and he has never really denied them, but nor has he confirmed them either. One thing is certain though, and that is that he doesn't think like other people. His mind works on a different level than others, not genius level, but something else entirely, something that only he can possibly comprehend.
Diable is an alleged kleptomaniac and he can't resist the urge to steal, particularly if there is something he finds interesting. There is nothing that can give him more of a rush than stealing, and a rush is something he craves. He loves the adrenaline, the feeling of danger and expectation for what is around the next corner, and he really can't get enough of it. To him it is immensely fun, it is almost like an addiction and he often steals things without realizing it. For instance, when he walks through a crowd he can suddenly find himself holding some random guys wallet that he snatched from the guys pocket without him, or himself, noticing it.
Beneath all of this there is a third layer, one of guilt. Diable faces an almost constant battle against his guilt and inner demons, often having nightmares or hellish daydreams. He blames himself for something terrible that has happened in the past and it is bothering him deeply. He sees the terrible thing that happened as a sin, one that he is directly responsible for and it's gnawing at him. He is desperately searching for a way to redeem himself and make amends for his wrongdoing, so much so that he is willing to stop stealing all together.
Diable has suffered memory loss which can cause him to be rather confused at times. He can experience flashes and pictures of his forgotten memories, both awake and while sleeping, and they tend to confuse him. To begin with he had tried to piece the memories together, but stopped when he figured he was better off without them as many of them were less than positive, mildly put. The memory loss is a result of him putting up a mental block within his mind to prevent him from remembering, and it is not the only such barrier as he has several of them.
Diable can speak English, however he has a very noticeable French accent. The accent is clearly incurred and he is obviously doing it on purpose, though he still manages to make it sound natural. He can speak fluid English, but he rarely does, the only exception is when he is really, REALLY, angry, something that is very rare. When he does speak fluent English, it is best to keep on distance from him as he can be very dangerous when he is that angry.
History:
Diable's mother and Hermes met in Paris during the Paris Banlieues Tango festival. Hermes immediately fell in love with her, apparantly because of her beauty, kindess and wisdom. She wasn't in love with him to begin with, but after spending a day with him, she fell for him because she thought he was kind, funny and nice. The two had a one night stand before Hermes left to do some godly business.
Diable's mother was poor and by the time Diable was born, she was without a home. Thus, he came into the world in an alleyway, poor and without anything, his mother horribly weak and barely able to care for him.
About a year after he was born he and his mother was attacked by a man who tried to mug them of their only food. His mother tried to stop him, but the man had a gun and in his desperation, he shot her and ran away afterward. Diable got her blood in his eyes, resulting in the odd coloration.
Shortly afterward he was found by a homeless man named Snatcher, the leader of group of thieving homeless kids. Snatcher took Diable and raised him to be a part of his group as a thief. The first things he learned while growing up was how to steal as well as the art of theft. He quickly grew up to become the best thief of the whole group, stealing the most money quicker and more efficiently than the others. However, simply stealing didn't earn them enough money, so they had to resort to other methods to earn money (I am not going to go into detail, but I think you get the gist). Diable's time on the street has greatly influenced his view on the world (it's a rather dark view) and is part of the reason for why he is so wild. Though he has blocked most of his memories of his time on the street, he still remembers it as he frequently has nightmares about it.
The odd coloration of Diable's eyes made him an outcast, and he was feared and hated by many people, even those within his own group. It was his eyes that earned him his name and title, Diable and Le Frai du Diable. While growing up he was constantly told that he was a devil, a freak and a monster, and that something like him, a creature like him didn't deserve to live. It is a belief he has taken to heart, he wholeheartedly believes that he is a devil or at least the devil's spawn (a son of the devil). Even though he hated his name and his title, he didn't change it, it was his name and the closest thing to an identity he had, even if it was a bad thing. Many people feared and hated him, he was often beaten by others, both kids and adults alike.
One time, when he was eight, he was beaten so bad that he was near death. His fingers was broken along with several other bones in his body, and because he couldn't steal in such a state, Snatcher threw him out of the group rather than helping and tending him. Diable, who had viewed Snatcher and the others as a sort of family (though he didn't understand the meaning of the word, he pretended to), lost all trust and faith in others and humanity as a result, only trusting himself from that point on.
While he lay on the ground, beneath a bridge right beside a sewer entrance in a rainy storm, a man approached him. It was a man he had met on several occasions before in the recent years. The man had taken him the doctors to get vaccinated and often bought him food. Diable considered him a friend as he was the only one (in his eyes) that treated him like more than just a freak and a monster. He didn't know the mans name, but he called him “Reaper man”, as he was all dressed in black and, during their first meeting the man had said that he worked for Diable's father, and since Diable believed his father to be the devil he thought that the man was a Reaper who had come for him. Unbeknownst to him, the “Reaper man” was actually his father Hermes.
Now, while he lay there, slowly dying, the man came, lifted him up and brought him to his home and nurtured him back to health. Diable stayed there for months, until he was fully healed, and then the man dumped him back in the city. He doesn't remember anything about his time as he suffered both physical and mental trauma during and after the beating. Another result of the trauma he endured caused him to forget everything about the “Reaper man”.
After he ended up on the streets again he was all on his own, cast out from the only “home” he had ever known and forced to fight for his life (not that there was much difference from before, except that now he had to do it all on his own). Diable did the only thing he knew how to do in order to survive, and that was stealing. He took on many jobs, stealing and breaking in to many places, and as his skills grew so did his reputation. After a few years he had become an infamous thief, highly sought out after by the government and the black market (let's just say he has pissed off a lot people). He had earned quite a lot of money and was enormously rich, there was really no reason for him to take on any jobs as he had a lot of money on different accounts. The only reason for why he continued taking on jobs was because that was the only thing he knew how to do, and because it was fun. No one knew his name or what he looked like (he always wore a hood), he was only known as “The Ace of Spades”. The reason for this nickname was because he always left a calling card when he had finished a job (stolen or broken into something), the ace of spades, the omen of death.
While he lived on the street and took on these jobs, he saw and experienced many things, a lot of which is less than pleasant. Diable has blocked out several memories from this time as many of them are very traumatizing. It was during this time that he met Fleur.
While walking through the streets of La Rochelle, (he has been almost all over the world by now) he saw a young girl being attacked by men in black suits. Being the gentleman he was (not really), he rushed to save her. However, he found that that wasn't necessary as she could more than defend herself. She beat up the men without a problem despite them being almost twice her size, of course, Diable gave her hand. (both of them are fourteen at this point in time). The girl introduced herself as Fleur and stated that she was impressed by Diable and invited him to her home. At first Diable declined the offer, but after a bit of nagging on her part, he accepted and came home with her.
As it turned out, Fleur was the daughter of a rich businessman who owned almost all the companies in La Rochelle, and he owned a big mansion, mildly put. Diable stayed over for dinner, Fleur's father was very grateful to him for saving his daughter and told him that he could stay for as long as he liked. Diable stayed an entire week, he didn't dare any longer as he was wanted by many people, but during that time he started developing feelings for Fleur. Being a hopeless romantic, he flirted and hit on her, while she in turn just ignored him, to begin with at least.
Even after Diable left La Rochelle, he still kept seeing her and keeping in contact with her, though he was careful to do so in secret. They did this during the course of two years (until they were sixteen) and by this time they had already gotten intimate and they had become a couple.
One day, while visiting Fleur, she told him that she would be traveling to London with her father on a business trip and stay there for a month. She told him that they wouldn't be able to see each other. Diable said that that was fine as he had some business to attend to himself, (Fleur didn't know that he was homeless or that he was a thief at this point) and the two parted ways.
The business that Diable had to attend to was in Moscow, he was supposed to break in to a government facility and steal the plans to a press conference building in Berlin. He did so without problem and delivered the plans to his client, but upon leaving, he overheard the client talk about their plans. Apparently, the conference building was supposed to house a big convention between the countries in a few days, and Diable's client (who turned out to be Vladimir Romanovich, the leader of a criminal group called Chernoye Solntse : The Black Sun) had planned to attack it, something which would result in feud or possibly a war between the countries. Unfortunately, Diable was caught spying on them and he was brought before Vladimir who was, safe to say, less than happy. He was furious and he beat and humiliated Diable, before he dumped him in the sewers and left him to die.
But Diable wasn't quite ready to die yet and he managed to get out of the sewers and to his safe house (in actuality it was a run down motel, but he used it as a sort of safe house even though it wasn't exactly hidden). He tended to his wounds before he headed for the airport and took the first flight to Berlin.
Once there, he headed for the conference building just in time for the attack. It was utter chaos, but Diable managed to maneuver through it without getting shot and head for the main room where he knew the leaders would be. Before he could get to the room however he spotted, to his horror, that Fleur was at the conference together with her father.
Fleur's father had been shot and was badly wounded. Diable ran up to them and, as you can imagine, had quite a time trying to explain what he was doing in Berlin, the same could be said about Fleur. (Diable didn't tell her that he was responsible for the attack, he left that part out and he lied about the reason for him being there) Apparently she had lied about going to London, because her father had told her that no one must know where they were going as the conference was secret, and that if anyone asked she would tell them that she and her father were going to London. Diable wasn't too happy about it, but he ignored it for the moment and headed for the main room. He got there in time to prevent the leaders of the countries from getting killed (from the shadows of course), and left as quickly as he could. However there was still a lot of the Black Sun around, shooting and killing people, it was practically a massacre. By the time the cops and the military had arrived, most of the people were dead, except for the leaders, a few guests including Fleur. Unfortunately, her father didn't make it and died in the hospital a few hours later, leaving Fleur to take over the companies (she didn't have a mother).
Diable left, too ashamed to be with her anymore. He didn't see her for a year, and during that time he lay low and tried to cope with what he had done. He felt that he was directly responsible for the deaths of over a hundred people.
When he finally did see her again she had found out about his part in the attack/massacre and she wasn't too happy about it. Fleur was enraged, she broke up with him, cursed him and shouted that she hated him right to his face. She even said that she wanted revenge on him, meaning that she wanted him dead. Rich as she was and with her many connections (gained from her father after his death), she put a bounty on his head and hired people to kill him.
On the run for his life, Diable fled until he ended up in New York. Once there he met a Satyr whom told Diable that he had been looking for him. It turned out that many of the people who were after him at the moment, and those that had been after him before, were monsters. Apparently, the satyr, and many other satyrs and demigods, had been searching for Diable for years now but they had been unable to find him until now. The satyr offered him a safe place to stay and he gladly accepted, but only because he needed to hide. Another reason was because he thought he might find a way to redeem himself if he joined the camp.
He has been in the camp for two years now, he created the false identity of Robert Dale so that no one would know that he was the infamous criminal “The Ace of Spades”. He doesn't really have any friends, even if some might consider him so. Many people is vary of him and doesn't trust him, mainly because of his eyes, but it doesn't bother him much as he is used to it.
Diable recently left camp to go on an assignment, stealing a jewel from a rich guys house (without Chiron or Mr. D knowing of course, they think he left to visit a relative), but he just about to return.
Weapons:
A telescopic bo staff and two twin daggers. The bo staff is made of normal steel whereas the daggers are made of celestial bronze.
Abilities:
Diable is a jack of all trades, however if there is one thing he excels at it is theft. He can steal almost anything without getting noticed, and he can blend into a crowd as easily as a knife cuts through butter if he wants to. He has the standard powers of a child of Hermes, and he is pretty decent with daggers and sufficient enough with a sword to be able to defend himself. However his real skills is with the bo staff. Though not a master, he is adept in the art of Bōjutsu and is more than capable of holding his own against several opponents if necessary. In addition he is adept in several martial arts, but he isn't a master in any of them. He is quick, acrobatic and a good climber (being very good at parkour), and he moves with an almost feline grace. Diable can also speak several languages almost fluently, though he still has a rather french accent.
Years at camp: 2nd
Year-rounder or summer-only camper?: Year-rounder, though he often leaves camp to go on assignments given to him by his clients or visit Fleur (by visit I mean spy on her through the window).
NOTE: About the amount of detail in this application I feel it's necessary due to the complexity of Diable's character. One doesn't turn out the way he is without having gone through some shit.
With eyes I did a bit of research and found out that it is possible to have red eyes without being an albino, though it is rare.
