Quintyn inhaled sharply as she allowed Addy to grip her hand. She was too desperate for the pain to be gone to resist even the most basic treatment. Kaiser's voice became prominent in her ears as he chided her for being defensive towards those around her.
"Gods, you sound like your sister," Quintyn muttered with a grin at the use of the nickname she'd grown accustomed to hearing roll off Shiloh's tongue.
"Listen. To repay you for your ever so chivalrous act, come by the Athena cabin and I'll let you borrow my copy of Pet Semetary," Quintyn offered sincerely, although the beginning of her sentence oozed with her usual sarcastic tone.
"... But I swear if you go catching more falling demigods and ruin the only good copy of my favourite book you'll definitely regret it," she warned, glancing at Kaiser with eyelids narrowed slightly.
As Addy finished up her patch job, Quintyn's hand stung intensely. The stubborn daughter of Athena bit down on her lip to keep her from groaning in response to the pain, she hesitated when she began to taste blood, but releasing her grip only made the pain in her hand worse, she she kept going despite the metallic tang welling in her mouth. As her adrenaline seeped from her body, Quintyn wished that her hand would just simply go numb and save her the pain that jolted through the whole left side of her body with every movement she made.
Once Addy stood and brushed her jeans off, Quintyn inspected the daughter of Demeter's medical work. Once she had decided that the bandaging was reliable, she brought her gaze to meet Addy's face.
"Thanks... I owe you one," she said, keeping her head high in her moment of vulnerability and defeat. Gods, Quintyn really hated feeling vulnerable.
A shrill whistle was heard from beside her, causing her to look over at Kaiser's amused expression sharply.
"Was that a 'thank you' coming from Quintyn Avilov? I'm glad I stuck around. That was shocking." He mocked. Quintyn raised one eyebrow in distaste for the attention he brought to it.
"Are you always this annoying?" Quintyn retorted, though she was kind of glad she wasn't the only one sounding like an asshole here. Shiloh was great to be around, but her brother was definitely a little more Quintyn's speed.
Now that her hand was bandaged for the time being, Quintyn tried once again to stand up. Keeping her left hand pressed to her chest, she used what minimal strength she had in her un-dominant right hand to ungracefully push herself up. Her legs, covered with dirt and scrapes, wobbled uncontrollably as her body tried to distribute her strength back into her limbs.
"I- uh- should probably go see somebody about this hand," Quintyn said, dread seeping in between her words heavily as she thought about what the medics at the infirmary were going to do to her misshapen fingers. At least they had ambrosia in the infirmary. She was going to eat that stuff until her body felt like the underworld.
