Early Morning Capture the Flag

(Gotta go. :/)

She nodded. "That sounds like a perfect defense plan to me. I doubt they'll get by!" 
Catalina readied to hide the flag and guard it, adjusting her overloaded quiver of arrows and fixing her light brown hair into a ponytail.

"Woah woah wait you wanna hide the flag? After I specifically mentioned not to? Can't we just join group 1 or something?" I said with my hands out in panic.
I did not want to recreate the last time I played capture the flag. It ended up with me getting lost, placing the flag on a myrmeke hill, and then getting asphyxiated by a brainwashed tree nymph.
"Like I dunno, bud, let Finn or Lily or maybe even Quintyn have a try. Finn did lead me to that wonderful myrmeke hill last time, didn't you, Finn?"
She snickered and pat me on the back.
"You're just so great at being a drongo, mate." She chuckled.
I frowned, looking at Leslie and pointing at Finn.
"Would you look at what I have to deal with?"

Catalina waited quietly, the branches and leaves around her especially still. There was no way they could win.

I waited with Roxy in the bush, this was one of my favourite parts of being an archer. I could sit during capture the flag and do barely anything. It was great. Roxy and I talked in whispers, peering through the leaves every now and again to see if we could spot any lone campers. I played with the red feather fletching in the arrow I had ready to nock between my fingers. I liked spending time with Roxy. She was fun to talk to. She was the little sister I never had, and it felt pretty good to be a big brother.

"Yea sure." I understand. I turned my back on him. "I knew it wasn't meant." I mumbled to myself. I waved him off and sat on the ground to put my head in my hands. At that moment I could have given up the flag. It felt like my mother had died all over again. Only this time it was my love life not my mother. I wiped my eye with my jacket. I ran my finger through my tangled hair or pink and black. Though I wasn't crying I was on the verge to. I stood up from the ground and started back off farther into the forest. Out of no where flew down something I actually noticed it was an Stymphalian Bird. On instinct I drew Χάρος I swung at the bird but it flew away. It came back at me and I ducked before it could grab me. I remebered these were man-eating birds so I moved away from it and fell down the side of the land. (What I meant by flat way on the top of the mountain.) I fell and scrapped my arms up. I ended up on my back with the bird coming at me. In one last attempt I swung at it and hit. It flew down in a piece of scrap metal. My vision was blurry, really blurry. I looked over to luke and mouth one word, Help.

I laid on the ground in the circle of bushes with Roxy. Neither of us were all that interested in the game. Me not so much for the same reason as Roxy. She never liked Capture the Flag. It was really early and I definitely didn't feel like doing much. It had been a long sleepless night. I wondered what the chances of me being able to sneak in a power nap were. I doubt Roxy would like me leaving her alone to defend the flag.
"You're looking tired, Fletch," she commented, as if she could read my mind.
"Yeah, well, lack of sleep will do that to you," I said with a smile as I rested my eyes. I put my hands behind my head, one still clutching the shaft of an arrow ready to be shot. Roxy rooted through her medic bag , looking for things she might need to re-stalk when she got back to the infirmary.

Since Luke didn't seem like he was going to help me anytime soon. I stood up off the ground and made my way for the others flag. While I was walking I took some ambrosia from my pocket and started eating it as I walked. I was thinking of something as I walked and ate, when I was little I felt a tug on my hand sometimes when I was by the swings or metal/minerals at all. I never thought anything of it and forgot the feeling even though it was still there so I decided to see if I could use it. I put my right hand out around me and closed my eyes. I thought of a lot of string attaching me to metals in the ground and metals only. I waiting for a second and nothing happened then I felt it, a slight tug of my hand. I opened my eyes and my hand was still out and I still felt the tugging. So I decided to walk to it. I found nothing when I stopped but I figured I had to be close to more so I let my non- existant string pull me off to something I felt was bigger and it was on the surface of the earth. I started to walk to it. What do you know? It wasn't the flag and I re-tied my string and I knew I had it. This item was heavy-ish as the flag was and it was made of the same matieral the flag was, the base atleast. I led myself over the way I was pulled as the weight and the string in my hand stated to sagg if it could I knew i was close. I still had my half and half sword in my left hand. I let go of my connection to the metal and switched my sword to my right hand. I looked around for anyone who might jump out at me. I decided that even though they might have had the worst players they weren't dumb. I decided to go with over-thinking. I gave myself a victory smile but I knew what was going on. "I found it." I started to walk to the flag my hand out to grab it to see if they would play back.
