Mortal Parent: Janeson is a practical man who majored in philosophy. He likes to explore the wonders, the what-ifs, and most of all, he believes in piratically anything. From magic to witchcraft to vampires, Janeson believes it all.
Growing up, Janeson was always shut out by his parents. As Janeson was an only child who lived in a wealthy family, he was heir to everything. The mansion, family fortune, and the cars and yachts and family business all went to him. So, his parents tried to raise the man that society would accept. This meant Janeson never had a say in what to eat, wear, do, or become. Fortunately, when Janeson was 21, he got a job (which didn't pay nearly as much as the family job), and walked away from all the family responsibilities.
Janeson met Hecate when he was assisting a curator in a highly known museum in NYC. Hecate was peering over the old, Greek artifacts when Janeson offered to give her a tour, and Hecate accepted. Many months later, after a full courtship and Claire being born, Hecate gave Janeson the truth. Believing everything, Janeson barley bat an eye when he learned the mother of his daughter was an ancient, greek Goddess.
Personality: Claire is stuborn. Very stubborn. She makes good friends, and usually fades to the back, but if you ask for her opinion, you better be prepared to receive it. Oddly enough, Claire hates being the center of attention, but she likes to meet new people and talk, because Claire is very friendly. She opens people with open arms. Claire is very intelligent and educated, but she doesn't have a clue about street smarts. Claire likes to serve others and help, but she is lazy and will do so slowly. Claire fatal flaw is that she thinks to hard. She overthinks things.
History: Claire was born on June 21st (ironically the summer solstice). She progressed in learning exceptionally fast. Starting kindergarten at the age of 4, she knew the colors, numbers, and how to basic read. Claire made friends easily, made the honors in her classes easily, and overall was a well-rounded student. However, when Claire was 6, a car ran a red light. Claire was crossing in the crosswalk and a car hurtled towards her. Panicking, Claire just put her hands up protectively and screamed in fear. When she heard a large crash and immediately though why-am-i-not-dead, she opened her eyes and coughed through the smoke. Turns out, the car had mysteriously vaulted over Claire and tumbled and turned until it went offroad. This was the first time that Claire's magical powers shone through. Terrified, Claire didn't return to school the next morning.
Janeson had pulled her out and put her in a chartering school system. Claire reluctantly still participated and outside social programs, such as swimming and soccer. She gradually became more open and made freinds again, and got put back into public school when she was 8.
Then it repeated. Claire was walking across the stage for third grade graduation, and slipped on a microphone cord. Pulling the microphone over, it slammed into the ground, cracking and causing a irritable loud piercing sound. Everybody happened to hear it- except for Claire. Panicking, 4 doctors later and no reasonable explanation, Claire gave up and got pulled back into chartering.
Strange things kept on happening. Whether it was talking to cats, jumping 10 feet in the air, or setting her swimsuit on fire underwater, at the age of 12, Janeson finally told Claire who her mother was. Claire didn't believe it. Janeson tried to make Claire go to Camp Half-Blood, but she refused.
Janeson made a deal with Claire - she could stay home until she was 16, and then she would have to go to Camp Half-Blood during the summer, an Claire reluctantly agreed.
