Luke, Ren and Carmine Go Training

I stared as Ren's accessories transformed into weapons of mass terror. She mentioned not being good, but the way she casually spoke and carried the weapons gave off confident vibe from her. I half-expected Ren's clothes to reform into some wicked MMORPG level 100 armour but I guess my mind got carried away with that image.
"Have you done this before?" I asked Ren. "You have quite the assortment of weapons for a new camper."
Maybe Ren just had a shopping spree at the armoury, but I'm sure she's swung a sword before. Either way, I didn't want to go all out on a new camper. Was Carmine that experienced anyways? Hades campers are hard to miss but I have missed Leslie for a good three years so he could be living in camp his whole life and I wouldn't have noticed.
"How experienced is everyone anyways? We can make it a two on one with the least experienced in a team, or a free for all... or we could take turns with duo duels." I asked everyone as I pressed the teal square on my rainbow checkered wristband.
My bronze sword, Keravnos, sprung to life, and I swung it around a couple of times before looking at Carmine and Ren's eyes for ideas.

'These? I got them from Caty at this museum of science we passed one day. I have done it before, but only once or twice.' I said answering Luke's question. Carmine told us we could go two to one on Godly parents. Was he serious, two against one did not seem fair at all, especially with Luke on the two side. But, oh well if he feels like he can take us why not. 'If you are sure, and putting on armour I guess that would be a nice thing to do.' I ran over to the armour area and put on a breastplate. The thing did weight a lot and I had no idea how I was ever going to be able to move as quick as normal, but you have got to value your safety above being able do make weird jump moves. 'Oh my, this is absolutely fabulous, I don't see why Aphrodite campers don't wear these.' I made a sarcastic comment on the breastplate, thinking why I couldn't do it without it. I had the urge to say 'I think I'll pass actually, this thing is way to heavy to even move.' I had a feeling I'd have to wobble like a penguin to move. Ren, you know how stupid this is? Go for it! I decided to be smart and kept it on. I came back to the middle looked at Luke and smiled with half of my mouth. 'I am ready to do this, Carmine.' I looked at him and made a plopping noise. 'You're dead. Or at least going to be beaten.' Hopefully

Carmine saw Luke's blade come towards him, and his instincts kicked in. That's what Carmine loved about fights, he never felt ADHD in them. Standing around and doing nothing, he felt weird and jumpy. During a sparring match, he felt like he was doing everything right. Luke had experience on Carmine, and height, but Carmine's sword was a lot bigger than Luke's. Carmine lifted his sword and it connected with Luke's, making a thud sound as bronze connected with rock. Carmine backstepped and was trying to keep Ren and Luke in his eyesight at all times, because getting attacked from two sides was a hassle. Carmine decided to not take any chances and stomped on the ground, creating a solid wall between Ren and Luke. Divide and conquer, the perfect strategy. The wall wasn't too high or long, but it was enough. It would buy Carmine at least a couple seconds of alone time with Luke. Carmine twisted his body and sent the tip of his sword scraping the ground, creating a spray of dust and pebbles to try and slow down Luke. Carmine's sword was big, yeah, but it was also slow. Carmine rushed towards Luke, keeping low and dragging his blade on the ground, where it made a dragging sound as the heavy rock scraped against the floor. Carmine swung towards Luke in an upwards motion, trying to propel him off the ground with the flat side of his weapon.

I was taken aback by the large hunk of rock racing towards me, much too similar with my experience not too long ago with Carmine shooting up a tower of rock into my face. I guess Carmine had a thing for injuring me with rocks. My sword vibrated against the harsh connection with Carmine's. I almost tripped over myself when he summoned a wave of rock next to me as I began to feel disoriented from my surroundings. All I saw was a blur of obsidian arching towards me. I made an attempt to step on the flat of his blade but the harsh screeching that came from the sword caused me to lose what little focus I had and I mistepped to the left of the blade, leaving the sword wide open as it came into contact with my crotch. I stumbled backwards in attempts to remove myself from the situation as fast as I could while sharp pain hit me in my nethers. A hiss was forced out between my teeth as I tried to recuperate, embarrassed, trying to come across that it didn't hurt me as much as I did. As I finally recovered I could see a blur of teal and violet behind Carmine as Ren attacked him to the side. Both demigods seemed to have their hands full as their swords seemed to dance in their hands in elaborate lunges and swipes. I eyed them, unsure of whether to overpower Carmine with an added opponent to worry about. I could swipe at his legs or hit him from behind but it seemed so unfair... I couldn't do much but stand dumbfounded as I tried to think of my next move. A flash of slate blue eyes and I was able to make eye contact with Ren. She backed off and I threw myself back into the match, hoping to be a bit more successful than I was at the beginning. I kept darting my eyes around the room, learning from my past that Carmine wasn't afraid to play up his godly powers to his advantage. I changed my tactic, letting Carmine switch on the offense while I dodged every move. I have had practice at swiftly evading strikes, a lot of help came in changing the air to shift to my favour, which meant more movement for me and less effort. Fortunately my technique has strengthened in my muscle memory and I was still pretty good at evading, relying on my sword to deflect and parry swipes I otherwise couldn't dodge without my powers. I kept only slightly deflecting and pushing his sword away so I barely provided distance between Carmine's sword and myself until I felt that he felt used to the pattern, then I ran at him with full-blown force, hoping to catch him off guard as I pushed my whole body towards him, my sword extending on my action. I was hoping to push him back and leave more space for Ren to fill in on.

I watched Luke attack Carmine, and decided that my skills where indeed pretty bad. Luke's sword almost hit Carmine a couple of times. Carmine stubbled backwards, fell and stood up again. I placed myself in front of him, making him trapped between Luke and me. And, his sword was at my feet as well, minor detail. Carmine said that it looked bad, and told us he'd always have an advantage, the ground. He then took of a piece of armour and before I realised what he was doing I saw it flying towards me.

I ducked but the armour piece flew to my head, it hit me on my forehead and I pushed a hand against it in reflex. The impact made me almost lose balance but I crouched to make sure that wouldn't happen. I was about to stand up but in doing so I did lose balance. My armour made me fall backwards. As I out stretched my legs and caught myself with my arms before I'd actually hit the floor, I kicked Carmine his sword away. The armour wasn't the only thing that could fly, next to Luke and me, Carmine himself came flying at me as well. Wait a moment, he's no son of Zeus, he can't fly. How does he even do th- Before I could finish my thought Carmine ended his flight by almost crashing into me. It reminded me of when I met Al, I almost flew into him, and I did fly into the door. Man, I suck at halfblood skills. Ren, the fight! You've got the concentration of a goldfish or something.

Yes, the fight, alright! With Carmine using his armour as missile, he had less on to protect him against those. I wonder if they even have missiles here? Why not che- FIGHT! Too late did I remember, I saw Carmine his stone popsicle of destruction coming at me with a dangerous speed. I lifted my sword and blocked his strike. I pushed with two hands and our swords left each other with a noise of metal scratching over stone. I had my sword at my side and I slashed at Carmine's now unprotected hand. I made a small cut in his hand, though not his sword hand, he'd pulled that one back in time.

We made a couple of close strikes when Carmine was seemingly going to strike to my left. In response I moved right. Then, on the last moment he swung his sword right, hitting me in my armour. Carmine his swing was strong enough to force me to take some steps back to compensate. In this time he slashed again, I blocked it but he was stronger. I toppled over and landed face first on the floor. I rolled out of the way his sword was going. I stuck my own sword up, trying to hit Carmine in his legs.

We came here to practise for capture the flag, let's not use the "roll on the floor- tactic" it doesn't seem to work out that well.
