I began to head over to the Apollo cabin. It's been such a long time since I had talking to Fletch one-on-one, and he's been a really good friend to me over a past few months I had known him for. Last time we talked alone together was the night that his grandfather died. I wanted to see how he was doing in regards to that; he was incredibly upset last time he saw him. A lot of other things pierced my mind. Things I would usually go to Leo about, like my own personal problems. Leo was stuck in the forest though, and we still had only a couple of days left until he's let out. There's been other things that sparked my interest, like the talk with Zack I had at the lake. I had taken my mind off Charlie to deal with the mess he's made here in camp, but I realized I shouldn't let my guard down for too long. That's exactly what he wants. With all the thoughts drifting across my head I almost passed the Apollo cabin. That would have been embarrassing considering his cabin is literally a blinding solid gold. I backtracked a bit when I realized my destination was closer than I thought, and I bounded up the steps. I had pulled on a purple plaid shirt and jeans with a wallet chain dangling from one side of my hip. Despite the fact that my wallet only had a couple of drachma and a crumpled up five dollar bill, I carried it around with me everywhere. Although I always had to take off the chain whenever I was in danger of being heard by monsters, which was a most of the time. Fletch was always fancier clothing, well not really fancy but less sloppy compared to mine. I guess I wanted to be up to Fletch standards today. This was my only plaid shirt.
I knocked on the solid gold door. My fist crumpled as soon as it made contact.
"Di Immortales!" I hissed out as I cradled my reddening knuckles.
The door was heavier and harder than was necessary. Why was it that Apollo always thought making a grand appearance was necessary? Then again, I was standing here in my only decent clothing, so I guess in a way this was my own grand appearance.
Congratulations, Fletch, your friend had the decency to look nice so you can listen to all his stupid problems! I thought.
Yeah, that was good compensation.
I actually showered this week and everything.
