((I'm just gonna begin to tie this up, the plot's coming to a close, we can inform you if we create another related thread, Bodine ))
I pushed past the door, almost stumbling into Dean's cabin. I was so drained from today's events, I just wanted to fall down and take a nap, but there was one thing I had to do first. I walked into Dean's room, where I saw Fletch crouching over Finn. I met Fletch's eyes for a split second before approaching the bed Finn was sharing, with other injured nymphs. I hurried over to her, crouching down to her level.
"Hey, Finn. How are you holding up?" I whispered, afraid of her ebbing unconsciousness.
Her eyes opened just slightly, her gaze not fixed on anything in particular as she murmured something incoherent. I was unsure of whether to feel concerned or relieved, so I just gently wrapped one arm around in a hug.
"Hang in there, buddy." I told her as I pulled away. "Roxy's coming home. She's going to fix you."
Finn did what looks like an attempt and a nod.
I turned back to the others as I took a seat on the floor. At least everything was done and over with. For now, that is.
"We had a bit of a run in with Mr.D, but it seems like he's cooled off for the time being. At least, Silver and I weren't turned into pumpkins. He didn't bother asking where we hid the nymphs and satyrs again, he just wants us to bring them back in two weeks. I think he wants to wait it out to see if any of our forest guys are secretly insane. Apart from that, you guys can't come back to camp until that two week mark."
I looked at the nymphs on my last sentence. They looked angry and disappointed, but none of them said anything in protest. Everyone just seemed to want to take what they could get.
"That's it? That's our next step?" Dean asked, not in an impatient tone, but one of relief, like he was glad we didn't have to do any more acrobatics.
"Yeah. I mean, there's all this other Charlie stuff going on that we need to clear up, but so far in relation to the forest folk here, we're basically off the hook."
It seemed too good to be true, but I was too tired to complain. There was Fletch's dream to worry about, but I didn't want to voice it out loud. I wasn't sure if Fletch wanted to share his visions to the public yet. I picked myself up off the ground and walked over to the comfier location on the foot of the bed that was seemingly shared by way too many people. I wasn't ready to leave just yet. I wanted to relax for a bit longer, help Fletch with the Nurse-work, before returning to camp. My eyes moved towards Silver and I wondered how she felt on all of this. She was very helpful throughout the whole thing, doing more than expected to keep everything in check. I remember when she told us about hiding in the forest and planning on going after Charlie for her parents.
"Silver," I began, unsure how to start my sentence. "We're still doing a lot of stuff to go after Charlie. Feel free to come join us whenever we do."
I had Fletch's dream in my mind when I said it, and I looked at Fletch, wondering if it was okay to tell Silver about these things. Even if we didn't, we had a lot of other plans to go against Charlie, I was sure Silver was going to have a chance to help out her parents.
