"Well, that went well." I commented as we walked off the porch.
Fletch looked at me as if that brain tumor was a real thing that happened on the quest. Maybe it was.
I wanted to shake off the unsettling feeling of that whole embarrassing ordeal. Holy Zeus, I suddenly was craving a cold shower. I stuck my hands in pockets in an introverted fashion, until i realized that that's where I had placed Lily's panties. My hand flew out of my pocket in embarrassment and I grabbed onto my other arm with that hand, wanting to get a hold of someone.
"At least we have the drachma." I pointed out.
Fletch uncurled his fingers to let me look at the stupid piece of silver we had to go through all the trouble to retrieve. It glinted mockingly in the sunlight.
Stupid piece of currency. I thought.
We made our way over to the Big House. We were both pretty quiet from the tension we had just experienced, but there was a silent agreement that passed from my eyes to his pale water blue eyes that seemed to ripple with emotion. If Finn wasn't deathly ill, we would have gutted her like a Calydonian boar. We barged through the screen door. Chiron and Mr.D were sitting down in their regular seats, playing pinochle.
"What are you look for, Mister Kealoha? Mister Fleming?" Chiron asked.
"Yeah you guys bother me enough when your little friend Rachel was here. Now you've just gotten more annoying." Mr.D grumbled.
"Someone needs to take over as head Apollo medic." I quickly replied.
"Franklin can speak for himself, can't he? Or does he have another boyfriend to speak for him?"
I balled my hands in a fist, my knuckles turned white as the blood rushed to my face. He wanted to provoke me, he wanted me to say something stupid. I kept my lips tightly pressed against each other despite the yell forming in the deep pit of my stomach.
I looked to Chiron, hoping he'd get Mr.D to stop being an asswipe. My heart dropped when his gaze dropped to the ground. I turned my head towards the door where we hid Finn. My eyes widened. The boy wasn't there. Nobody was guarding the door.
"Now what I want to know, is why there's a half dead Australian camper in the storage room."
Di Immortales
Mr.D locked eyes with me. His eyes looked like a deadly poison especially concocted to stop the hearts of teenagers. If it wasn't that, I was almost sure my form of death was going to be asphyxiation when I turned into a dolphin and I stopped breathing.
