(I'm assuming that was Bodine on Rens account. Haha)
Dazed and confused I watched the Nymph scramble around, calling after her to stay with me. She hadn't listened, but at least she'd come back. I realized she had gone to get something very dear to her. She mentioned that we all had something that helped us survive, and a large pang hit my chest at the reminder of my snapped violin and archery bow.
I looked her up and down quickly to take note of her injuries I would have to heal, before she had said: "I hoped we helped out a little." Panic rose to my chest as I realized the brave Satyr that had helped her wasn't with her. My eyes opened wide, and I rushed to the place where the hole should have been opened, only to collide with a border, which sent me falling into the grass, staring up at nothing but tree's now tainted with a dark aura. I felt my eyes sting as emotions battled inside me. I listed myself up and started to pound the border with my fists in anger and frustration. How could I have just left them in there like that? How could I not have gone in sooner?
I wanted to scream, but I didn't want to draw attention to myself or the newly freed Nymph standing with me. She asked me a question, which almost went unanswered due to my mind racing 1000 times per minute trying to figure out what to do. I felt like a failure if I left him, but so many forest creatures needed me to come back with medical supplies, and to get that, I needed to stealth past Mr.D and Chiron.
"I... Uhm..." Was all that came out of my mouth. I looked at her with helplessness in my blue eyes. "I'll explain later, right now, we need to go." I grabbed her wrist to pull her away from the border, and to make sure she didn't leave my side again while under my responsibility.
I ran as fast as I could over to the Big House, where I needed to get everything I possibly could from the infirmary. I tried to make another plan as to how I could get in there. If Mr.D saw me, it would all be over. I crouched beneath the window of the big blue building, trying to think as hard as I could. I motioned for the Nymph to be quiet so the God of Wine didn't hear us.
Any plan I conjured up would end in failure. I had no idea how to get in there without Mr.D seeing. Suddenly, a voice came from my right that nearly scared to death, until I realized who it was.
"Fletch?" It hissed. I whipped my head around to see a short standing blonde boy, with green eyes reflecting the forest, and freckles that decorated his face like rain drops on dry cement. His grey and white striped sweater fell off his shoulder as he crouched down on his blonde goat legs to get face to face with me.
"Cas!" I exclaimed in a hushed whisper. I wanted to wrap the satyr in a tight hug. He always came at the right times.
"Fletch what is going on?" Casper asked harshly. "Mr.D has me searching for you and Luke like you're some kind of escaped convicts."
"Aw, buddy, we might as well be," I replied, the hopelessness sounding in my voice once again.
"What did you do?" He asked, concern boring out of him.
"He found the hole we made," I explained, looking at the Nymph who sat beside me, then back to Casper. "He found the hole and he closed it. Luke and I had to get Leo and the rests of the sane Nymphs and Satyrs out." Caspers eyes grew wide with worry at the news.
"Gods, Fletch, it looks like you've been through Tartarus," he said, lifting his hand to cup my chin between his index finger and thumb as he looked at my face, which probably looked inflated and horrifying.
"Mr.D broke my violin bow trying to get me to talk about where the Nymphs and Satyrs were," I said, hanging my head. "If it weren't for this Nymph... And another Satyr who couldn't get out... Luke, the other Nymphs and Satyrs and I would be gone." I motioned to the Nymph, who Casper gave a grateful look to.
"You're Silver Deer, right?" he asked, to which she nodded. "Thank you," he said with a weak smile. He brought his attention back to me.
"So what now? Where are the others and Luke?" Casper asked.
"They're going to Deans," I said. I hoped they were okay. This was taking longer than I'd hoped. "I need to get in there to get medical supplies, but I can't get passed Mr.D." Casper glanced up through the window to analyze the situation before he crouched back down and giving me a determined look.
"I'll get it for you. Tell me what you need." Again, I wanted to hug the goat boy. I listed off everything I would need to possibly heal the forest people. Casper listened intently, and without hesitation began his mission to get me my supplies.
Silver Deer and I waited, anxiety rose to my chest every minute Casper spent in there. The nymph and I shared no words. I wanted to tell her how grateful I was to her that she had been there to save Luke, Leo, the others and I, but I couldn't make words come out of my mouth directly to her. Not after I had left her partner in the forest.
Casper came out of the Big House as quietly as he could, slowly shutting the door to minimize the sound of a click. He turned to the two of us and gave a thumbs up, a red medical bag over his shoulder. He lifted it over his head and gave it to me. Draping it over my shoulder as I got up, the three of us began to run to Deans. Casper took the behind in case anything happened, and I ran with Silver Deer.
The blood spots in the ground the closer we got to Deans cabin where what scared me the most. Fresh, wet, red liquid dotted the ground like paint splatter to a canvas. The three of us picked up our speed, running up the hill and over to get to Deans cabin.
I was so out of breath, and everything hurt. My abdomen protested to every movement I made, and my head, pounding with a vicious headache screamed at me to listen. My legs carried on by force, and I almost collapsed on Deans porch. Dean had been waiting for us, and lifted my arm over his shoulders so he could help me the rest of the way inside.
"Glad you're here," he said in his smooth, yet slightly raspy voice.
"How is it in there?" I asked, dreading the answer.
"Not good, man." He replied, just as I had suspected. He explained to me the situation as he lead me to his room, where I was greeted by a nymph and a young Satyr laying side by side. An exhausted looking Luke sat on the right side of the bed, pressing towels to the wounds to try and stop the bleeding. I lifted my arm off of Deans shoulders and stumbled in his room.
"Hey," I greeted, lifting the medical bag over my head and placing it on the foot of the bed. He looked up at me as I started routing through my supplies, throwing out all the items I would need on the blood stained comforter by the patients feet.
Sewing needle, thread, nectar, ambrosia, disinfectant, bandages.
